A beautiful Magnolia card for my Senior Friend

I am in a huge magnolia mood today

I wanted to keep the image soft and subtle and used a technique from YouTube for doing the "sidewalk" under the girl. It looks like she is sitting on the edge of the pool with her feet in the cool water.

I will be sending this to my senior angel friend, Ms.Vivian.  I hope it will remind her of summer and how much fun it can be to splash around.

Speaking of pool, I'm looking forward to getting some pool time in this week and next weekend.  Hopefully our rear fence will go in tomorrow or Wednesday and I can go ahead and have our carpets cleaned and give the house an old fashioned good scrub down.

Mind you the house is not that dirty, but the construction has taken a tool on the carpets leaving dirt stains in hallways and by doors.  I also need to dust and just want to wait until I don't have people tromping in and out of the house.

Mike has been busy in this nearly 100% humidity 89* heat staining and sealing the back deck and applying the new lattice to the underside.  I am amazed at how nice it is coming together.  I so appreciate his strength and determination to get the job done.

Have a great week, Happy Memorial Day!

Queen Kat on Tuesday, Desk caddy written tutorial

Once again Queen Kat does not disappoint with her beautiful stamps!  Maigan lynn outdid herself when she drew up this beautiful lady.

She reminds me of a brides maid and with my Step -sons wedding in just under a year, I'm starting to think of favors I can do to help the couple out.

This would certainly make a beautiful brides maid gift!

You will need:
Acrylic photo frame (3 1/2"X5")
Small calendar
Stamped Image
patterned paper
flowers, glue, ink adhesive

Stamp image onto white card stock and color with your preferred medium.  Sponge the edges and attach the focal image to a coordinating card stock.  Sponge these edges as well.  Add stickles and the butterfly.

Randomly stamp swirls onto 3 1/2X5" patterned paper, sponge edges and insert inside where the photo would normally go.  Stamp swirleys onto another 3 1/2" X 5" card stock, attach flower (for the pull) and the calendar.  Sponge all edges.  Attach the flowers on the photo frame using EG6000 adhesive.  Use Redliner tape for attaching the note pad.

The entire project took me under 10 minutes to complete.  Don't forget to visit Queen Kat for these and other wonderful stamps!  Stamp happy and be a blessing!

Large altered Photo frame

My hubby thinks this is busy, I think its great.  Now that I've got the basic idea worked out in my head, I plan to make more, personalize them and give them to friends/family.

Can't you see this even more 3D with a large popped out focal image?  I used a CTMH paper pack called "Sophia" as the base, partnered it with some textured green card stock.  It is all spoonged with pink ink.  I used Aileens 7800 adhesive to attach all the dimensional flowers.  They are from Recollections and Iamroses.

Stamp happy, have a great weekend!  Is there anyone that would be interested in doing these as a swap?

LSH Mini Album Swap

What a wonderful Mail day!

I received this wonderful package from MC Graves as part of our one on one mini album swap at Little scrap of Heaven.

I had such a great time not only getting goodies together for her and making a mini to send, but we developed a nice on-line friendship and it is just so fun to get all these wonderful goodies!
Above is a slide show of all the wonderful goodness that was in my package.  I actually thought this was an order of stamps I made last week, I was so thrilled when I realized the package was from MC I actually squealed.

It was like Christmas opening all the fun little bags filled up with fun stuff.

Have a great day, Stamp Happy!

Squigglefly New Release -- Bedtime

When I first received this image from Holly my first thoughts where of my Chad when he was a little boy.

It brought back memeories of him carrying around his own love baby (A white rabbit) that he refused to give up even for pictures.  Ahh such sweet memories.

For today's project it measures 6X6 finished and would be nice on a scrapbook page, mini book or even a card for a friend.

The back ground 'quilt' look behind the main image.

1.  Cut card stock to 5 1/4" X 4"
2.  Cut scraps of patterned paper to 1 1/2" and 1 1/4", sponging all edges.
3.  Piece these ontop of the base card stock with your favorite adhesive, trim off any excess and sponge one more time with your favorite blue ink.
4.  Using your favorite embosisng folder (this is a cuttle bug one that has gears on it) I used a ballet blue ink (retired SU) and inked the inside of the folder.  Then placed it in my Vagabond and embossed it.
5.  Place this on the top right side of the 6X6 base then cut a piece of darker blue card stock that measures 5 1/2" X 1" and round the edges and apply to the base as shown.

  Enjoy!

Not a Recipie box, box swap from MSR -- Video slide show!

This one was horrible to try and get the slide show ready for here on the blog and You tube.

Please subscribe to my blog as well as my You Tube Channel.

I received this wonderful box from Erin from My Scrap Room.  I love doing these one on one swaps.  The box she made me is just so perfect, love the greens and pinks she used, the bling is also so very nice!

Erin was such a fun partner to have for the swap, and she has very beautiful handwriting.

I hope you guys have a great day, tomorrow will be a zoo again in our neighborhood.  The funeral for the officer killed on Saturday is tomorrow which means the neighborhood will be a hot mess.

Today for the viewing there where at least 30 or more cop motorcycles, not to mention uniform and plain clothed officers.

On the home front the materials for our new fence should arrive sometime today, I am looking forward to being able to let the dogs play in the back yard with no fear of them getting loose or running into the street!

Have a great day, Stamp Happy, be a blesssing!

Maigan Lynn -- Queen Kat on Tuesday! Shrink Plastic charm!

Hello friends!

It is time to think outside the "card" for today's fun project. If you follow my personal blog, You know that I have been on a shrink plastic binge for a while now.

I love the stuff. I stamped the unicorn from Maigan Lynn stamp design sold by Queen Kat. I stamped the unicorn onto the slick side of the shrink plastic using staz on ink, I flipped the piece over and colored with my copic markers.

Then I followed the manufacturer's instructions and shrank the piece. To make sure it was clear, I heated the piece until all the dull color was gone and the charm was translucent. Before shrinking I did punch a hole toward the top so I could hang it onto the bracelet.  I hope you will enjoy this slide show of the Queen Kat stamp projects and a gift for my Husband!

I strung beads from my collection and added the charm. I thought this piece was just adorable. I will be sending this as a surprise for my niece, Melissa.

Have a great week, Stamp Happy!

Altered Rolodex card for swap with a video!

I have never participated in an Altered Rolodex card swap before.

It was challenging, but I admit that it was so much fun to create these pieces!

I used Tuxedo Black ink from Memento to stamp the focal image (Magnolia) and colored it with my copic markers.  It is embellished with Shrink plastic flowers.  Easy to make and fun to use on projects.

Altered Rolodex card swap and Hostess gift.

The flowers are from I am roses and the bling is Recollections from their recent clearance sales.

The six cards I made took about 1 hour total to complete, and I am really excited to get them postal this next week.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the neighbors across the street from us on the loss of Sgt. Hunter, who died in a tragic crash earlier today.

Have a great weekend, Stamp Happy and be a Blessing!

Quote book instructions

Hi Everyone!

I get many request on how I make these simple yet fun quote/mini books.  They are so super simple!

I use a retired Sizzix die, Super Scallop.  Then I cut the tags out of medium weight coasters, if you don't have coasters, medium weight chipboard works great.

Sources of chipboard you may not think of include, cereal boxes, soda boxes, juice boxes., etc.  It is a great way to pay it forward.

Then I choose my stamps, most of these are from Fiskars, Inkadinkadoo and My Favorite things.  I choose the sentiments to match the mood or theme of the book.

OK, before I forget, I cut out all the patterned paper and acetate from the same die so all I need to do is glue and go.

The acetate I use is actually the plastic from the sizzix dies when I receive them, I cut them up into manageable pieces and send them right through the die cutter.

Cover, sand and sponge all the pages, then get to stamping.  I use memento tuxedo black ink and copic markers for the coloring.

Many of the images are the pure innocence from My Favorite things.    Generally I do all of the cutting at once, so if I want to die cut shapes for behind my focal image or sentiment I do it at this time.

For the mini flowers, I used a flower from inkadinkado (it is the set that has flowers and bugs on it) and I stamp the flower on the rough side of shrink plastic.  Cut it out with sharp scissors and make sure to separate each petal.  Of course you would color on the rough side of the plastic first then shrink following manufacturer's instructions.

While the piece is still mostly flexible, mold the petals upward to create the 3D effect.  You may wish to apply a few drops of a crystal lacquer to the back of these flowers since the back is quiet dull.

Thanks for the questions and nice comments.  Terri will be receiving her blog candy/ you tube subby winnings soon!

Terri, please email me at Ms.Rhetta@gmail.com with your snail mail address so I can send out your goodies this week.  All names where placed into a hat and I drew out a name this morning.  Congratulations Terri!

I made two more altered tins, one is for a mini album swap (its a bonus) and one is for my sister in law.  I hope they will enjoy all the goodies I'm including in their respective boxes.

Thank you so much for the emails regarding Craig.  He seems to be settled for now, but really needs to take a long hard look at his life and grow up.  He is 22 years old now and there has come the time when Mom loves him, but his decisions are his alone to make.  Hopefully I will be back on the posting of projects for my various design teams in the next few weeks.

I found the floor of the craft room yesterday, I'm so thankful for that, the house is coming back together, now to get the carpet cleaning people in to take care of that task.

A gift for Alison

Inspite of current frustrations, I took a little time to make this cute altered lunch box for my new friend Alison

I met Alison while looking at the discounted punches at our large Joanne's store.  Of course I'm always willing to 'enable' other crafters and that day she shared her 20 % off entire purchase and sale items coupon with me.  That is like insta friend.

We haven't had much time to get together mostly because of circumstances with my remodel.  So today we are just going to hang out in this mess of a stamp room (I'm not brave enough to take pics right now).

I need to take a few pics of the finished outside, it looks like a totally different house.

Sunset Mermaid winners -- Queen Kat -- please read!

Ladies, this is a really quick post, I have lost part of my inbox for email entirely.  It just kinda disappeared.  I have something ready for all five ladies who left a comment on this post.

My oldest son (yes the Airforce kid) is having some major issues right now.   Obviously I do not want to get into this on an open forum, so please just know this is a difficult time for him and our family and keep us in your prayers.

I apologise ladies that I didn't post that I needed your address once again sooner, it has just been a terrible week, throw in the end of our remodel (pictures soon) and you've got one stressed out chick!

Have a great night, stamp happy, be a blessing!

Queen Kat on Tuesday!

Due to an unexpected family emergency, today's post will be brief.  My oldest son is not well and I am trying to get him admitted to Walter Reid Army Medical Center.

Please visit Queen Kat at her store. She has some wonderful whimsical stamps and fun items to buy.  There is a treasure of idea's and projects to try as well.

Hopefully I'll be back on schedule to show you some fun projects with Magain Lynn's stamps.

Stamp Happy, be a blessing.  Please pray for my family.

The finish line is near!

Here is a video of the house remodel and the recipe box - swap

The main part of our remodeling process is starting to come to a close.

We are actually almost a week ahead of the contractor's schedule.  There is still finish work to be done, lattice, privacy enclosure on the deck, furniture for the porch and deck and we will be putting shutters on our shed for a rain barrell.

We are also adding a privacy fence around the back of the house for privacy and to allow the dogs a good run of the back yard.

Please note, the music you hear in the video was purchased from the Itunes store .  I really love classical music.

The not a recipe box, box swap is for Erin at the My Scrap room websight.

Click this video for blog candy information, it is coming up soon, and it is also a 200 Subbie give away for You Tube!

The final touches on the rear deck will be made tomorrow.

I receive many comments on the Never Ending Card, I would like to remind every one that Scrap and Stamp arts dubed my card (the version of the NEC) the "coolest Card Ever" and it still is!

May 7 Squiggle fly release!

I received my PREMIERE Issue of Just Cards! For Kids! magazine complimentary copy today and I have two cards published in this issue.  One is on Page 35 and the other is on page 108.

I hope that when this actually post that all the pictures will be viewable.  This digi image is entitled "A dance to Remember".  I think it would be an awesome image to use on a Father's day card.
For this project:  I made a 6X6" scrapbook page.

Base layer is 6" X 6".  Working from the left to right, the speckled purple measures 5" X 2", the patterned purple measures 5" X 3".  The photo mat (white layer) measures 3"X 3" and the specked purple is 2 3/4" X 2 3/4" turned on the point.

The image is cut down and colored with Copic markers.  This project show cases how you can use your existing stamps and materials and enhance them with digital images. The sentiment and water mark flowers are from Scrappy Cat clear stamps.  The felt roses are cut from a die I received in a swap.

I also stamped a butterfly onto shrink plastic, colored and curved up the wings for an added whimsical touch.

I hope you will give this project a try.  I will try and post again this week with a Squigglefly fun project showcasing some really fun summer time images.  I'm thinking Beach Baby!

Have a fantastic weekend and Happy Mother's Day!
