This adorable card was made using the May Quilt digi stamp from Squigglefly.
I printed the image out on several different patterned papers and fussy cut each area out and using dimensional dots, popped up the images, it is embellished with glitter, crystal effects, dew drops and ribbon.
The finished card is A2 and measures 5 1/2 X 4 1/4". I am so sorry I didn't post this earlier. For some crazy reason the email I received from Holly with my assignment popped into my spam folder. That was highly unusual.
Please visit her store, she is having a spring cleaning sale and you can receive 10% off your ENTIRE purchase with her wonderful digi stamps.
A couple of reminders when working with digital images.
1. Always print the image onto high quality card stock.
2. Always heat set the image so you know the ink is dry.
3. Color with your desired medium.
4. Enjoy!
Stamp Happy -- be a blessing. Mothers day is May 8th so start working on those Mom projects now!
I have entered a contest on this blog. Stampin Dymonz is having a 10 day contest with the grand prize of a VAGABOND from Tim Holtz! Isn't that amazing. I do already own a Vagabond already, but would love to have a second so when my friends come to play I have an extra to use!
Here is my entry. I actually made this tag for a friend a few weeks back. I finished off the back with the book plate that was part of this tag die from Tim Holtz and sizzix. Everything is glimmer misted and walnut stained.
The die cut is a bird with vine that I made a wing for.
Enjoy, I hope you will come join our fun group of crafters, Have a great day, Stamp Happy.
Today the workers removed the back deck. I hope you enjoy the music, if not just mute it. On April 26th, more work is happening, the new front door will go in, the first inspection and footings will be poured and the front deck boards go down.
The siding will finally come off then (I know I keep saying that, and it isn't happening) our family would like the Lord to stop pouring out so much rain, just a week of dry days please.
The new siding will also go up. I'll try to take as many pictures as I can of the process, so I can share them with all of you.
Have a great day, hopefully I'll be able to get some stamping in and show you some fun projects.
Today's post for Queen Kat is so put together at the last minute. Much to the surprise of Mike and I we found our contractor and one of his men here when we returned from Church on Sunday. They where busy getting the post holes for the front deck dug so that the inspector could come out on Monday.
Then we ran into a problem, Even though they called for the Inspection on Monday, the county seat and offices are closed. I knew school was closed, but the dump, and all offices closed, that we didn't know. So that moves everything off until April 26.
Which means this house will be a flurry of activity. AC guy, Siding guy, decking guys, all will be here tomorrow. My head hurts just thinking about it. Hey progress either creeps along or comes in leaps and bounds.
For those of you who are reading this directly from the Queen Kat blog, please visit Loretta's blog. She also has a blog candy and Youtube give away currently going on.
Ok, backto the subject, I put this slide show of the projects I have made for Queen Kat since beginning with them on Janurary 1, 2011. I have two more altered projects using stamps that will be released May 2, so come back and see these projects on May 3 when it is my turn to post to the Queen Kat blog again.
I so enjoy being able to create these wonderful works of art. I hope you are enjoying some warmer weather. Have a great week, Stamp Happy, be a blessing.
It is about 80* right now here at my home in Southern Maryland. I'm not complaining, as I am so tired of cold and wet, now I'm just tired of wet.
The weather clears up and the county offices are closed, so we are having the back deck removed today. Tomorrow will be a floury of excitement and projects, including new HVAC. Yes, that means TRANE did in fact approve of a system replacement for us. Our current system does not work and is only 5 1/2 years old. Tomorrow the AC should be fixed so it is not so warm inside of our house.
Thank you Fred at Myscraproom for the beautiful altered egg swap. I plan to hang my egg in the family room once we have the remodel out of the way.
Did I share with you guys that Mike is also going to re-do our laundry room? He plans to finish off the dry wall and ceiling. I am looking forward to the space being better utilized and more organized. Yes, I'll take pictures!
Have a great day, Read the post from 4/24/2011 to learn about the rules for the blog candy give away.
Hello everyone, please click this video to see what will be given away for blog candy/subbie give away.
I realised that I had not put the dates in for this give away in previous posts. So, I'm re-doing the entire thing. Please read this post carefully so you know the rules and full details.
Blog candy/subbie give away actually started on April 10, so if you've previously left comments from that date until May 15 you are already in the drawing for the prizes.
If you would like additional entries, please leave comments on my YouTube channel, Iwannastamp and here on my blog. Double your entries by putting my blinky on your blog and or YouTube channel. Don't forget to let me know you've done this so I don't miss any entry's.
Please note, if you are out of the US and win this prize, it takes up to 3-5 weeks for it to arrive. Patience in this regard is appreciated.
Tomorrow will be lots of pictures, the inspector will be here by 7:30 am, then concrete is poured. Footings go in and deck comes off, please see my previous posts and video's to see what all is going on.
The remodeling is at a stand still until Monday, and weather premitting. Then things around here will be very exciting!
Before I start today's post, Happy Easter! It will be quiet here and we'll be anticipating the workers arriving again on Monday.
This week's non rain days are supposed to be Monday and Tuesday and Friday. Monday will be a huge work day. Siding comes off, and the new will go up, inspector will come which means porch decking is framed up. Then they destruct the back deck.
When our workers get to the back deck, the only entry will be to and from the basement door. I hope that the front door/ deck will be accessible. The attic also gets an upgrade, They are blowing in insulation and replacing the exsiting vents and putting in a new attic fan.
Now if "mommy" can just talk "daddy" into new living room furniture. Well, soon maybe!
Many exciting things are happening and very quickly. My builders where on sight today to frame in the front porch roof. We have to hold off on the deck boards until after it passes county inspection. It is a massive front porch and really makes the entry to our home pop.
Here is a video of the pictures from yesterday and today, I hope you will enjoy them.
On another note, I only had five comments on the Maigan Lynn project from April 19. Since one of the wonderful comments was from Maigan herself, I decided to give the project to her.
Larisa, Boni, Cebelica and Christina, please email me at Ms.Rhetta@gmail.com. I would like to make this fair and send you something from my personal stash. Thank you so much for leaving comments. I appreciate them so very much.
Today's dream Journal is made using the Sun Set Mermaid from Queen Kat Stamps. She is just a beautiful image. I had a blast coming up with this idea. This project can be yours. All you have to do is leave a comment on this post and I'll draw a winner on Thrusday. So good luck!
As we expected, there is no construction here today. Tomorrow's weather forecast is clear, so we will be doing some changes!
I used some of the paper from my personal collection, all edges are sponged with chocolate ink, and other embellishments include glimmer mist, brads, and ribbon.
The paper pad inside of the folder is a staples brand mini junior legal pad in pink. I covered up the top with some of the paper I had left over from the rest of the project.
I received some happy mail today, Scott Publishing returned many of the cards I have had published over the last year or so, and it appears that there are a few that are being returned to me now that will be appearing in future publications. It is always exciting to see one's art in print.
On that note I would like to encourage you to make a card or other creation and submit it for publication. You never know until you try!
Dream Mermaid Journal
Supplies: Mini Junior legal pad,
Mermaid stamp
Patterned paper and card stock of your choosing
Instructions:
Cut card stock 1/2” larger than the mini note pad, by 12”. Using the note pad as a guide gently fold the card stock over the legal pad, then using a bone folder fold in those score lines. Cut off any excess, now is also a good time to use a die for the edge or a punch for more decoration.
Use patterned paper of your choice cut to the exact size of the note pad, sponge edges and tape over the top flap. Adhere the pad to the inside right of the back cover, spray with glimmer mist in dazzling diamonds.
On the left hand side, measure the panel and cut solid card stock then subtract ¼” on all sides , sponge edges and tape into place. Using a piece that is about 4” X 7”, patterned paper, sponge edges and attach to the card stock. For the corner, I used a 3” square cut on the diagonal and then accented this with a piece of edge punched patterned paper. This is then put into place using pop dots.
Front Cover:
I actually just super sized a card sketch pattern. Each layer is about ¼” smaller than the previous one, each layer is distressed, sponged and glimmer misted. I used Flowers #3,#4 from Sizzix to make the flower. The sentiment “dream” is printed onto a scrap of card stock and applied to the front.
The project took about an hour to make. Mermaid is stamped with Memento black ink and sponged. Other materials include pop dots, red sticky tape, ribbon, stickles, glimmer mist, glue, dimensional adhesive and flat back pearls.

Worker disassembling porch, as you can see all shrubs have been removed.
From accross the street, porch is now gone, we now have the fugliest house in the neighborhood. The car in front is my "Stamper" mo-bile!
A bit closer viewo f the front door that is now 4ft off the ground.
Another view of the porch torn off and the new frame work for the new porch is in place.
Now we get to move forward. The forecast is calling for more rain and tomorrow will probally be a partial work day.
Mike and I had doctor appointments today, I am happy to report other than my blood pressure being a bit elevated (umm, wonder why?!) we are both doing well. I've dropped 5 pounds bringing my current total weight loss to 9 pounds. Not much but this was the "important" visit to be sure I am healthy enough to start some walking and other exercise routines.
That means there is only fourteen months until his son's wedding, June 12, 2012. Oh the task of loosing the weight seems great, so I ate a cookie and got over it.
Tomorrow's post features a single give away, it is a Queen Kat Tuesday, I hope you will come back and visit.
Enjoy the pictures, I'm enjoying a few hours of quiet without hammers, drills and saws running. Have a great night, Stamp Happy, be a blessing!
Head in the Sand can be purchased from Squigglefly.com. Click here to purchase.
Today's post will be brief. Our home renovations are coming along. The forecast is calling for rain, so I am not sure how much work will be accomplished this weekend.
The Head in the sand image is just too cute. I used a sketch found online for the layers of the card. All of the edges are sponged with a chocolate ink. I colored the mage wth copic markers and used Glossy Accents for the 'sweat'. I think I may use a saying like "Don't sweat it", I haven't decided yet.
The baby elephant, I actually made him a while ago and used him on a cute name badge, today I am using him with a pin back, just a simple little embellishment for your purse, shirt or child's acessores. It would look adorable on a hair clip as well.
I hope you guys will go check out the Squigglefly.com websight and go shopping. Holly has some fantastic designers, artist and fun challenges to play along with.

Today is a hussle and bussel kind of day. It is 10:20 am when I am starting this post and I have a headache. No it is not from the start of the de-construction or even the workers. It is infact from our three little barking dogs. Even with the "Bark off" turned on, they don't seem to get the fact these folks are going to be here a while.
They are framing the opening for the smaller 6 ft door now, and jacking up the header so that it no longer bows. Next steps will follow. I'll try and take lots of pictures of the construction process, and post those as we go along.
We are waiting for word back from Trane on our HVAC system. We basically have to totally replace a system that is 5 years old. I'm fuming mad about that part and feel that part if not all of the replacement cost should be covered under the warrenty. Please pray for us in that regard. (Just think of all the stamps dies and other scrappy fun I could have with that much money right?! or just save for the future!)
Thank you for the blog love and the wonderful comments on youtube. My youtube name is Iwannastamp. I am doing a 200 subscriber/blog candy give away. Please sub to the blog, as well as youtube channel.
Please click here to view the slide show on Youtube. After several attempts to attach the picture using the bloger video I finally gave up. So please click above to watch the video.
I made the never ending card for my husband. I will be giving it to him along with a pair of new house slippers. We call them "Scuffies" because you "scuffie" through the house or take the dogs out for doggie business. His old ones finally wore out after more than 15 years so for Christmas he bought a new pair. They started loosing their 'fluff' the first week he had them. They are lamb's wool lined and now have almost completely fallen apart.
After some research to find a similar pair to the ones he owned origionally I purchaed them from a big box store at a good price. They are being shipped to me, and should arrive by the weekend. I am excited to present them to him. He does so much for me, making his feet warm and comfy for the rest of the cold weather is such a blessing.
The slide show incorporates the never ending card, stick pin swap from your paper pantry and of course the never ending card.
UPDATE some of our materials have been delivered today. Tomorrow our roof is coming off, the eaves are being built out and the installation of the new front and back door will be replaced. Then over the weekend, the front porch and back deck get a demolision and the re-building begins. It may be a week before the new siding (In green and mist) goes on. The shutters are a chocolate brown. I'm so excited!
Hi everyone, it is cold and raining and my husband and I will start the remodeling on Thursday. Our first set of materials will be delivered. We made the final choices for siding colors and deck layout yesterday. I am so super excited to have our home reflect us. It is beautiful now, but needs an old fashioned face lift!
I hope that the weather clears up so I can shoot a video of the house as well as take some still "before" pictures!
I moved my desk slightly forward and to the left just a bit, moved the tripod behind my desk, and the lighting is much better now. I still have to work on camera angel. I've seen many of you use industrial Velcro to hold the camera in place, not sure if this would work for me, as we have textured ceilings.
<iframe title="YouTube video player" width="480" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/lstp9FEDq-Q" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen>iframe>
YouTube channel is here. I am sorry that the video had to be cut off, the dogs started barking and it was very distracting.
Stay tuned for the pictures/videos of our renovation. Have a great week. Be kind to one another.
I think I must be about the luckiest girl alive! Not only do I have a great husband and family, but I get to design fun projects like this one for you guys to see, try and enjoy!
This project started with a canvase that measures 8 X 10" . I prepared the surface by using some craft arts purple paint. I allowed this to dry for several hours.
While it was drying, I stamped the unicorn (butterflies on parade) onto white card stock and colored it with copic markers, V0000,V000,V01,V04,V05.
After I colored the image, I fussy cut around it and using a decopauge medium applied it to the canvase. The next step was hot gluing all the flower peddles into place. I used dew drops for the centers. The lace around the side and around the canvase are held in place with hot glue. The pictures you see above are toward the end of the process, and the piece is still slightly wet.
I have to allow this to completely dry and place it in "Melissa's" box so it can go postal early week. I want her to get the package in plenty of time for her birthday.
Please visit Queen Kat's blog and check her store out. I don't think this project came out to bad for being my first canvas work!
It must be April! Which means I've taken out my purple palette, ribbon, stickles and fun dies to create things for my Niece, Melissa. Please watch the slide show on youtube by clicking here.
This year she will celebrate her 15th birthday! I tell you, I do remember those days! Good thing purple is starting to grow on me, as my soon to be step daughter in law wants shades of purple in her wedding. They have a date, it is June 12, 2012.
We celebrated their engagement a bit late, mostly because of scheduling conflicts and other obligations.
The cute basket is one of the new big shot pro dies, I highly recommend visiting Memory Making crafts for all of your die cutting needs. Cindy has great product and reasonable prices. You will be seeing a few new projects made with dies I purchased from her store. She is expecting her first little one (a baby girl) in the next few months, I am so exited for their growing family!
I hope you have a great day, don't worry if you don't see many post this next week, I am determined to cleanup my craft room. I have been purchasing paper like crazy at the big box store sales, that needs to be put away as well as my new dies need to be cataloged and put away as well.
If you would like a current word document list of the sizzix dies I have, just email and I'll send you a copy attached to email. Once again, my email is Ms.Rhetta@gmail.com
