Mini Blog candy give away!

Hello my friends!

Today's post is to let you know that from February 1 until February 14 you will have a chance to win this small bag of goodies from me.  In the bag are scraps from some previous video tutorials, paper packs include DCWV and Paper Pantry.  There are four clear stamps from Pink Gem designs.  There are also a couple of cards from my digital design work for you to enjoy!

As we travel along these 14 days, I want to let you know that once I reach 100 subscriptions on my YouTube channel (Iwannastamp) I will be giving away some additional things including some TIM HOLTZ stamp sets.

I hope to be crafting more in the coming weeks.

In the NEWS!  Starting on February 1, I start my new weight loss and exercise program.  I have already begun to evaluate my current eating and exercise, but found that eating a snack cake and climbing stairs to get another soda just doesn't count.

Follow along on my journey.  I will actually post my current weight (you'll be as shocked as was I) and my goals.  Journey along with me and I hope you will join in on the fun.

To enter the give away, please leave a comment here ANYWHERE on my blog and on ANY of my YouTube video's and your name will be put in a hat.  AN ADDITIONAL INCENTIVE, put my blinky on your side bar and advertise my blog candy and you get put in Five times (one for the initial post and five for the blinky).

January Altered Art Projects --- Video

Happy Tuesday!

I hope every one had a very nice weekend and is enjoying some time with family and friends.

Chad took this picture on Friday

 Altered Bird cage for Barb

  My youngest son, Chad

The altered Cigar box from the video

I am so glad you are able to come and watch the video and read my blog post today!

I am enjoying some quiet time with Chad who is off from school today and tomorrow.  I am hoping to be able to have lunch with my precious husband, Michael tomorrow and having Chad join us is just a treat!

Speaking of food, I'm hungry!  I know thanks for sharing . . .   Onto Craft related things.

The bird cage was origionally orange.  I sanded it down and painted it with a blue craft paint.  I even painted the light wires and cord to match.  The bid is the bird with vine, cut away from the bottom and side pieces and re-layered on a fabric covered base and some paper shreds.   It is embellished with some stick pins and flowers from Recollections. It is very pretty lit up and offers a small "night" light.  My best friend, Barb loved the piece and it is now at home with her.

Chad is a very handsome young man and I really appreciate him taking his time to film my video's.  So, I thought I would take a few moments and tell him "thanks man" and post his handsome picture!

A couple of corrections Things are "painted" not "ink or inked", I'm sure you'll pick up a couple more obvious errors in communication.  I had a bit of a headache when I filed this one, and unfortunately it shows.

Have a great Tuesday, stamp happy and be a blessing!

The sheer joy of a properlly running computer & Pictures of altered projects!

Hello everyone!

As I sit and type today's blog post, I am ever reminded of how utterly dependent I personally am on my electronic devises.

I love my Kindle, Ipod, Droid and Sony Vaio,  my Terabyte backup drive and even my space heater.   How I would go crazy waiting for paint to dry if I didn't have a heat gun, I'd be blind if it where not for modern glasses, lightening and even the ability to change the size of the font.

I can quickly find information I want (and some I don't) by just a few "key" words and a searh, I can learn about everything from biology to the latest craft phase.

After more than a week living with very limited abilities to use my computer,  I am humbled and even thankful that I live in an age of technology.

Ok, after all that stuff, I'd like to tell you about the pictures at the top of today's post,

The first three pictures are of the altered coasters (from Stamponthis.com).  The calendar was purchased from vippies.com and I just love how this one came together.  It is for my Sr. Angel, Ms.Vivian.

The Thankyou card is for a swap hosted by a friend and I used stick pins in the cards as decorations.  I am really loving making the stick pins, they are so fun and are coming out well.

I hope you all hae a great weekend, stamp happy and be a blessing.

Hugs,

Loretta R.

Happy Anniversary

Hello My crafty Friends!

Just an update to let you all know I should be able to resume a normal blog schedule next week.

My laptop computer monitor went all pixels on me about a week ago, I was able to use my youngest son's computer that was like 8 years old, then it died.

I've heard it said that bad news and bad things travel in threes.  It looks like my life is no exception.  After speaking with a dear family friend, we know that our family will soon grieve a loss of a dear Father and Husband.

My Digital Delights video/tutorial for Saturday has been graciously covered for me considering these unusual circumstances, and I am grateful for that.

Other designer news, My post and tutorial for Suqigglefly will be shot and posted sometime in the next few days.

Please hang in there with me as I iron out the quirks of a new computer while having the old one fixed and transitioned to the teen kid.

Have a great night,  Happy 10th Anniversary to Mike and Loretta Rodger!

Hugs,

Loretta (proud to be Mrs. Rodger)

My apologies everyone for not posting this sooner.  My normal computer has taken "ill" and I am expecting the company that services our computers to call any time with news that the replacement parts have arrived.  It may be around Janurary 20th before that happens.
Chad has graciously allowedme to use his computer in the interim.

I hope you all are having a great week!  Stamp Happy and be a blessing!

Color me Swap

If the video does not play above, please click here for YouTube.

The paper used on this project was from a DCWV paper stack, I sanded and sponged the edges.  The sizzix die is a retired 'bird with vine' I purchased several years ago.  These projects are actually the first time I have used the die.  Goes to show you should check your stach before heading off to go shopping.

Tim Holtz has some new dies I am looking forward to purchasing and using in my projects.

My first tag

Happy Weekend everyone!

I have often wondered if I could make one of these beautiful tag creations for myself.  And here is my very first try.

I used the sizzix "Bird with Vine" die, and cut it out of paper so I could cover both sides of the chipboard.  I sanded all of the paper edges before sponging with brown ink.  The lace is from my collection.

The tag is actually one of the new Tim Holtz dies from sizzix.  It has two book plates that are part of the die.  It is also cut out of decorative paper and sanded then sponged with brown ink.  I had such a good time making this project!

The details on this project include stickles glitter, glimmer mist, and ribbon.  I used some bling and crystals from my collection for added umph!

I hope you will enjoy the project!  Have a great weekend!  Stamp Happy!

An Altered Matchbox Random Act of Kindness for YPP

I am also participating in a swap on Your Paper Pantry, click here for the websight.

If the video doesn't play please visit this websight:

I had a really nice time making these stick pins and he altered match box.  As I state in the video, the match box is cut from a sizzix big shot pro die and was cut from chipboard and two seperate layers of patterned paper.  The box itself got very thick so the recipient needs to keep in mind it may be a bit difficult to open it up.  So be careful!

I hope you will enjoy the pictures and this wonderful project.  Start of blog candy (the first of 2011) will be coming up soon, so please keep watch here on the blog for details. This month's candy will include lace, a matchbox, stick pins and some Tim Holtz clear mount stamps.

Have a great day, stamp happy and be a blessing!
