Happy New Year!

To my friends and family,

May you enjoy peace, love and happiness in this New Year, 2011.  I have enjoyed being part of your lives via this blog, my Youtube video's and on-line groups.  The year 2010 has been a difficult one for me and I am really glad to say I have come through this difficult year a stronger and better person.  I praise God for the blessings of a Wonderful Husband, two great kids and our beautiful home.

Mini Valentine Page Swap Project and Magnolia Image pictures!

Hello Friends!

Here it is 11:30 Pm on December 29th, and I am not only still awake, but making a blog post.  I think this is a first for me.

When I accept an opportunity to join in on a swap, for the most part I like to jump in feet first and get started.  I often finish these projects way before the deadline, this is no exception.  After looking at the rules for this swap over a dozen times I decided to proceed with the idea that these pages needed to be both functional for pictures and journals.  I used some lace I bought from Ebay as the "pocket on both sides of the page.

The bottom edge is some crystal edge binding that I purchased with my coupon at Hobby Lobby.  It offered the perfect added romantic touch to these pages.  I also used some Circle G Dollar Stamps from Michael's to embellish each page.  Everything was either sanded or distressed and inked using a brown ink from Memento.

To assure each page stayed in place with all of its contents.  I used a package of 8"x8" page protectors to contain everything.  The top of each bag was then stapled together.  Inside the packages is a tag with the number that accompanies the pages (ie., one of seven, etc.,) and a length of pom pom and tassel trim, and some lace.

This was also my first ever attempt at stick pins.  I used my hot glue gun to put the elements together on the pins, and I used a clear earring back to protect the ends and those receiving them so they wouldn't poke a person or through their plastic bags.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful week.  Please pray for me.  Three years ago tomorrow marks the passing of my only sister, Barbara.  I have thought of her often this last week and my heart is with her daughter Melissa.

Be a blessing and Stamp Happy!

Hugs,

Loretta Rodger

Hostess Gift for a Valentine Swap

This mini book came out so cute.  I had a really great time making it.  I used a pack of cosmo-cricket patterned paper that I received as part of my birthday club packages and I really had a nice ime cutting everything.  Rocket Red and Pearlescent Lime Brilliance inks where used along with Memento tuxdeo black.

The ribbon, keys and findings all came from the local scrapbooking store.  I hope that you will enjoy this project and try to make one for yourself!

Last of the Black and White Swap Cards!

It is almost Christmas!

I can hardly believe we are about to drop the curtain on the year 2010 and open it a new and fresh onto 2011.  May your Christmas and New Year be filled with Love, Joy and the peace of Jesus Christ who came as a babe to save us all.

I made the card above using magnolia stamps, I highlighted the images with C2 Copic marker and a silver Specia glitter pen for her veil.  I used DCWV patterned black and white paper, it also is glittered and layered it onto a black layer and a white card base.

I will blog again after Christmas.  Have a great time celebrating!

Black and White card swap

Just a brief post to show you two of the three black and white cards I made for a card swap on Splitcoast stampers.  I embossed the butterflies and cut them out, then used a pop dot to attach to the card.  The base of the card is a musical dry embossed score with a doily underneath the focal image.  I also used pretty gray ribbon to embellish the card.  Inside the sentiment reads "In Sympathy and Friendship".

The other card is a fun stamper card, the image is exclusive to a local stamp store and I used a transparency to emboss a large dot pattern.  It is glued to the front panel with regular two way glue pen.  It came out so adorable.  It is simple yet very unique.

I hope you enjoy both cards, please let me know what you think.

Craig is home for the first time in two years for the Christmas Holidays.  I am so excited to have him here.  Hugs to all and have a great night!  Stamp Happy!

My Stamping/Scrapbooking area and my Presents for my Birthday! A BUNCH OF PICTURES!

Ok gang, there are going to be a bunch of pictures so here we go!

Is that a bunch of pictures or what? If you lost count there are 24 of them!  I have had a blast over the last few weeks trying to clean up, clean out and sort through my stash.  I had very few duplicates (which actually came as a surprise to me).

I have more paper than many scrap booking stores I have been in.  here are several of the shelves (12X12) that are actually filled with paper I am trying to "gift" to a new home.  It is mostly "rock star" paper that my niece does not wish to have and I really have no use for it.

I hope to get some copic coloring done today, some more stamping and I want to image stamp all of my Magnolia images.   I received two birthday gifts yesterday.  One from my friend in California and another from one of the SCS birthday club members.  Out of respect for their privacy I will not tell you which is which or their names.  Ladies, I loved everything I received and it is all happily in a good home right here in my special craft area.

I am hoping to have a few more posts/projects for you all before Christmas.  If I am unable to do so, I wish you the joy that having faith in Christ brings as we look to celebrate the birth of Jesus on Christmas day.
