I am SO thrilled. When I walked to my mailbox like any ordinary morning with three dogs in tow, I was breathing deeply and enjoying the warm sunshine and quiet breeze coming over the trees. **
I grabbed the Pekingese, Buttercup (she came to us with this name it is not one I would have necessarily chosen for her). The mail lady handed me our stack of usual bills, periodicals and tucked into the middle of this bundle was a three page note from Ms. Vivian. She had written the note on some of the paper I had stamped inside a previous notebook that I had given to her.
**
I was thinking of her today, as you can see I was creating yet another beautiful notebook for her. For this project I used the generic mini legal pads purchased from the local office supply store. I measured the pad, trust me they are not 5 X 7" they are usually a bit bigger or smaller.
**
I cut my paper and printed the musical score onto transparency film, following the manufacturer's instructions. I cut ghost shapes using sizix flower #5 and plastic I recycled from my recycling bin. The project took a total of three hours to complete, it is not difficult. Just waiting around for paint to dry mostly.
**
Have a super weekend, I am sure we will be working in the yard, putting our new grill together and cooking out. Craig will be coming home this weekend and I am very happy to have him for a couple of days.

Take care, be safe and stamp Happy!

Musical Altered Journal

When I showed my husband the finished notebook project, he remarked with surprise "just beautiful, Loretta". That says alot. The mini-legal pads are found at the office supply store. I printed sheet music onto a transparency, heat set with my heat tool and embellished. I used a stamp from Clear Dollar Stamps, the bird punch is stampin up. The shrink 3-D plastic butterfly uses a sizzix die colored with copic markers allowed to curl some what and adhered together using E6000 glue. The flowers are also sizzix die cuts and are layered using pop dots and clear glue. The project is not entirely finished, I still need to stamp the individual pages before it goes to a new home.
I also made a beautiful student book for keeping track with my violin lessons. I will post pictures of that project tomorrow.
Thanks for stopping by, Stamp Happy!

Craft Area Re-Do Part Three! More Pictures!!!

Well Finally!
Wow who could have "thunk" it? Three post in one day just to try and get a few pictures uploaded. Ok, it was more than a few.
Today I altered a small chipboard box with handles. I have a friend in New Jersey who sent me one of every die cut she owns, so this little box is full of fun die cuts. Many of the dies (as you can see by the other two of today's posts) I do own. Under the skirted table in the die cut area are the rest of my sizzix dies. They sit by type in alphabetical order under there. Easy to get to and use.
I purchased two spell binder cases for my nestabilities. It did not come with enough pages for what I owned so I used DVD Plastic sleeves from the office store and put magnets inside so the smaller dies would not come loose in the folder.
Today I am heading back to my doctor's office. Yes folks, I've been sick over 3 weeks now. Just don't seem to be able to get 100%, so please pray for my quick recovery.
On another note, I will be posting pictures of our yard soon, so stay tuned. It is so beautiful. This week we'll be doing hanging baskets for the back deck and also planting more vegtables in our garden. So far we have tomatoes, beets, turnips, lettuce, tomatoes, pepers spinich, dill and two variatals of basil. Makes one hungry just thinking about all that produce!
Don't forget blog candy until May 12, so far we have up for grabs an altered clip with your name (that is if I can get it to fit, other wise it will be initials). Added today, two stamp sets, pictures will come soon. Have a great day and may you all enjoy the blessings God intends for you.
Stamp Happy my friends!

Craft Area Re-DO part two -- more pictures!

Today is April 23, 2010, and blog candy will end on May 12, in honor of my Mother's birthday.
**
Melissa, my niece turned 14 yesterday. I had totally forgotten the date, and was still working on these projects. I was able to speak with her briefly to let her know these will most likely go postal tomorrow. I teasingly asked if she still loved purple, I was so glad she said "yes". The truth be known it is probally my absolute
most disliked colors. So working with the deep purples did present a bit of a challenge.
**
I hope that you can see the details of the small clip board. Every indivudal page of the notepad is stamped. There is stamping on the background papers and ribbon and flowers adorn the crown or clip part of the project. In order to hide the stark bright metal, I covered it with fabric.
**
Of course I am re-posting a picture of the tag book I made several weeks ago all three of these terrific projects will be her's by the first of next week.

A gift for Barb -- lots of pictures!

** I know that since I have started getting older and some what falling apart, that true friendships are hard to find. My best friend is Barb. She is considerablly older than I and has such a fun and wonderful personality.
**
No matter what is happening in my life, from joy to tears to fear, I can count on a listening ear, a hug when I need it and laughter that soothes even the dullest of days.
**
With the economy being in the state it currently is in, I think it is necessary, ok required that we as American Citizens embrase the sentimentality of reduce, reuse and recycle.
** Today's projects all use scraps from my big box of scrap materials. I even used plastic recycled from my nestabilities for the ghosts shapes in this project.
Most of this project is very easy and I'd rate it from 1 being easy to 5 being hard as a solid 2. It is only a matter of waiting around for things (glitter glue and paint) to dry.
**
I kept in mind that Barb's favorite color is blue. I used an alphabet letter purchased from the craft store for the big initial and a large jumbo paper clip for her name. The letters on the name paperclip are from stampin up, manufactured by sizzix and is known as serif essentials.
***
Here is to you my dear friend Barb, thank you for just being you.

Stamp Happy and many blessings to you all!
