Thinking of you

Hello friends, ** Today among some other projects I am currently working on, I decided to make this "thinking of you" card for the birthday club swap on Splitcoaststampers. I had a really nice time picking out the shades of green and coloring this adorable image with my copic markers. This stamp is manufactured by Sugar Nellie Stamps. *** I own many of the stamps made by this company and they are precious images and so much fun to color. *** I have had a productive day, stamping and managing to get about 70% of our laundry finished. I put the kids to work vacuuming. Chad thinks we should change his name to "Cinderfella". As punishment for his recent lack of attention to detail (He was dragging his hands over walls and doors) he was given a medium sized bowl of warm water and good old fashioned "Mr. Clean" and a nice clean wash rag. He then started in his room and had to wash every wall down that had hand prints, or smuges. If the job was not done to my satisfaction it had to be re-done. It only took a couple of re-do's for him to pay attention to detail. *** I hate to admitt, the fresh clean smell of the cleaner makes me want to make up another batch and have him do the baseboards. Who knows a little more punishment to fit the crime is in order. *** I challenge each of you to take some time this weekend to do something creative just for yourselves. Enjoy a nice book, stamp or scrabook or what ever hobby makes for a happier you. Have a great evening and Stamp Happy!

Dolled out in green!

Hey friends!
**
Today is very cold and dreary. It partially accounts for my funky mood. I really hate even getting out of bed on a day like this, but there is stamping to be done.
**
To my credit I did wash a load of clothes and straighten out the family room. This evening we enjoyed Crab legs, I figure that the broccli cut out any calories from the butter sauce.
***
This project does not have an acetate front and back, simply because I forgot to put them on. I cut them and forgot them. How goofy is that?
***
I am looking forward to an evening filled with a family movie and pop corn.
***
Have a great evening. I will be adding to the "candy pot" soon, so please continue to leave those wonderful comments. Stamp Happy!

Blue Bird of Happiness tag book -- lots of pictures!

A tag book similar to this one is now part of the on-going blog candy. Blog candy will now run until April 5, 2010. You may leave a comment any where on my blog and if you link my blog to yours, I will put your name in the "hat" five additional times.
**
The die is from sizzix, super traditional die #38-0947. This die has been retired. However if you would like some cut, please email me at ms.rhetta@verizon.net and I will gladly send you some cut from recycled cardboard. You will need to sand and cover as you see desire. Paypal is accepted and 20 will cost you $2.50 to cover postage.
***
The front and back covers are cut out of recycled plastic, as are the "ghost" shapes. A ghost shape is simply a shape (in this project butterflies and flowers) also cut from recycled clear plastic. It adds an dimension that is not only offers a great dimension but a fun almost 3-d effect when layered with other decorative papers.
***
Many of the pages are embellished with glitter. The stams are from various manufactures and the ribbon adorning the tabs and wires are from the ribbon outlet here in Maryland.
***
I hope you will give a project like this a try. It is time consuming since much time is needed for layers and pieces to dry, so in man hours I would say this one took about 4 hours to totally complete.
****
Thank you for joining me today, Have a great week and STAMP HAPPY!

Pretty clipboard project -- lots of pictures!

Hello everyone
***
Saturday, March 20, 2010 I was privledged to visit the home of my stamping friend, Amanda. She taught a class on altering clip boards, making coasters and a tag book, she also turned a photo cube into a cool work of art. Unfortunately I still need to complete that part of my project.
***
The pretty purple one on the top of the blog post is the one I completed in the class. It is so pretty. She gave us a choice of different ribbons, embellishments, ghost shapes and many other goodies to play with.
***
For the project today, I choose shades of soft pink the ghost shapes are cut from a retired sizzix die and it is the ultimate in recycling. I used the packaging from the last die I purchased to cut the tea pot as well as the two flowers on this project.
***
For extra touches, I chose to add high lights with glitter, sukra pens, ribbon and dew drops. Each layer had to be carefully planned in advance and time was allowed between each step for drying. To prepare this clipboard, I used white spray paint and allowed it to dry in the warm (wonderful) sunshine for several hours before decopauging the the paper onto the clipboad. The clipboards where purchased from the Post Exchange at Fourt Meade for $1.00 each.
**
***
Don't forget we have two items of blog candy up for grabs two stamp sets. As we play along, there will be more goodies added to the pot. Since this is national craft month, it will be a "March madness" box of goodies.
***
Have a great night and check back with me soon. Stamp Happy!

Ms. Vivian -- Lady in Red gift set, BLOG CANDY! Lot's of pictures!

My Senior Angel gift for Ms. Vivian
Blog CandySenior Angel gifts;
Hello Friends!
**
What a fun day I had!
**
As many of you know, I have been steady un-mounting my rubber stamps for most of the last week. I have come to a stopping point until my re-supply of EX mount storage boxes, panels and foam arrive. Click here for their products this is the best source and price I have found so far on the Internet.
**
I have to date un-mounted 38 sets of Stampin Up, two sets of 12" X 12" file drawers (stuffed to capacity) and five sets of 8 1/2" X 11" file drawers also stuffed to capacity with rubber stamps are now in these storage boxes. My book case are not only is better organized but it makes the room feel "lighter". The cabinets behind my work desk are also much better organized and have much more room. **
Today was spent with my best friend, Barb. We ordered a pizza and sat and chatted the day away. While chatting she went through some of the things I am giving away and I worked on Ms. Vivian's pretty in red project. Ms. Vivian's favorite color is blue and for the most part I make my projects in shades of blue. I was recently challenged by a friend to try red and white combo, and this is what I came up with.
**
The main stamped image is from Rubber stampede #3552J "Cherry Blossom", it reminds me of a species of cherry trees know as the Cherokee Brave, my husband and I are looking for a local nursery that carries a mature tree for our yard.
**
Card stock is stampin up, as well as the bird punch. The gable box is from sizzix and it is a Bigz scoreboard die. These boxes are the perfect size for wedding and baby showers as well as other events like a ladies tea to enjoy receiving small gifts inside.
***
The projects are embellished with stickles glitter glue, fun rhinestones and sponged edges.
***
Blog candy begins today, March 18, 2010 and runs until Friday March 30, 2010. You may leave comments any where on my blog and if you link my blog candy to your blog side bar I put your name in my jar five additional times. I really appreciate your wonderful comments, suggestions and encouragement.
