cute card!

Hello my friends!
**
We received about 7" of snow overnight here in Maryland. Our hot water pipe in the kitchen froze and Mike decided to drill a hole and heat the pipe. Worked like a charm. Good thing I own a heat tool!
***
This is my first attempt at an easel card. One of the local ladies, Traci had some of the local ladies over for Chinese New Year celebration. It was so much fun. We made two coasters and an easel card. I was really trying to make this project more difficult than it was. I am sending this card to her as a thank you for a wonderful evening and the birthday gifts she gave to me.
***
Even though I haven't accomplished as many things as I would have liked to with my day, I have enjoyed it very much. I was able to clean off my stamp area, clean off my "company" stamp area and clean up our family room. Maybe one day soon we will be replacing our living room furniture. It is suffering from "dog" abuse. Snickers actually has eaten a hole in the back. It is only four years old and I am truly disappointed with how poorly it has worn. It should still look fairly new.

A tag book for Melissa -- the Winner of blog candy is -- !!

The winner of blog candy is: Vicki
I could not copy and paste the comment, but you can click here to view her comment.
Today's project was inspired by the other tag book I recently made. This time I used some of the $1.00 chipboard from Michael's and cut out my super scallop dies from Sizzix
Each page is covered in DCSW patterned paper, sanded and sponged. Each peace is over stamped with images from a clear stamp set inkadinkado makes. I received the set as a gift.
Fine details include the scrabble type tiles, stamped images of friendship and love, ribbon and other fun embellishments. I really love the way the project looks girlie. With a house full of men, I need all the help I can get ;-).
Blog candy will begin again soon, so please continue to enjoy my blog and the projects I have to offer.
Stamp Happy stay warm and dry. Its cold and snowing here in Maryland!

Party and project

Kathi in her silly birthday girl hat.
Hello my crafty friends!
***
I hope you are enjoying a day of crafting! I have been doing the laundry and working on the project you see above. I cased it from my friend Amanda, she made a similar tag book as gifts for the party you see above.
***
Don't forget that blog candy has now been extended until January 30. I am enjoying reading the comments. Please note, I have turned off the word verification and turned on the comments moderation. I have been receiving a few spams and am hoping to remedy the situation.
***
I know that I have mentioned in the past that my husband is retired Army. I am so super spoiled, more often than not I am treated when he does the grocery shopping, are you jealous yet? He even bought me some fresh flowers last time he went out! He knows how much I enjoy arranging them in the vase myself!
***
For the tag book, I used a retired super size scallop tag for the book, I used an empty soda box from my recycling bin to cut the tags and the paper is from DCSW it is double sided. To accent the tags even more, I used a Brilliant ink pad and stamped swirls. It is also embellished with dew drops and small crystals. I really like how the project turned out. I am sending it to my senior friend Ms. Vivian. She celebrated her birthday this month, and I want to get it postal tomorrow.

Another pretty card and Blog candy announcement!

Hello my friends!
**
Before I get onto today's post, I have a blog candy announcement
There is also going to be a top note die pillow cushion (your choice of fabric). I've decided to extend this offering of blog candy until Jan 31. I will make the drawing in the afternoon and post the winner to the blog. Please remember, you may leave a comment any where on my blog and if you link my candy to your blog you get 5 additional votes. So keep up those great and much appreciated comments. For the card; You will need card stock that measures 5 1/2 X 4 1/4" folded in pink Nestabilities new medallion die Nestabilities circle and scallop circle dies patterned paper, patience and some contrasting colors. ** I used copics to color the image (whipper snapper designs) and embellished with glitter and sponged ink. It was really hard to resist the urge to put little google eyes on the image. I think she is adorable as is! ** Stamp Happy and have a great night!

Blog Candy continues

Hi my fellow crafty people and blog followers! *** Happy Tuesday! I know it was a nice long weekend and I was a bit lonely today with Mike off at work. I was busy though. I remade the card from earlier this week and decided that the girl and waggon image was too sweet to just have it on the card, so I recreated that part of the card on the altered Coaster. Both are gifts for a birthday club I belong to on Splitcoast stampers. *** The images are from Whippersnapper designs and the paper is actually a few scraps I had left from another project. *** Sorry I haven't gotten to the video. Trust me its the road to heck is filled with good intentions. It has been a busy day. I had lunch with my step daughter and went shopping at our Joanne's store. They had some of the nestabilities dies and I used my coupon to buy two of the beautiful new medallion ones they are now carrying. *** Have a great day and Stamp Happy!

Happy Birthday to my friend!

Hello to all of you, my crafty and beautiful friends!
**
Today it is so cold and dreary in Maryland there isn't much to do except clean up the house and stamp. I stamped all of my new Whipper Snapper design stamps for a friend. She is celebrating her birthday this week and I am working on getting a package together for her.
***
The image is stamped with memento tuxedo black ink onto Hammermill 100 pound 100 brightness paper. I wish you could feel the paper, it is as smooth as a baby bottom. I used both my copic markers and water color pencils to color the image.
**
My husband and I will celebrate our 9th Anniversary this Wednesday. We plan to eat out at Pasta Plus restaurant. It has been voted the best Italian Restaurant in the Washington, DC area over the past four years. The service and food are certainly some of the best I've ever enjoyed.
**
All of the puppies are snuggled in tight in their beds and in front of my space heater.
***
Are you guys ready for that video yet? We may all have to wait, husband is now watching foot ball on the tiny TV that we keep in the basement. I didn't even know it still worked, I haven't watched TV down here in forever.
**
Stay safe, dry and warm, and as always, Stamp Happy!

A couple of cards will go to the publisher

Hi stampers!
***
I hope that you all have had a wonderful Saturday and are looking forward to down time, crafting and stamping!
***
Both of these cards are going to be submitted to Just Cards magazine. The Hedige is from Penny Black and the mouse with the candy is a Whipper Snapper image. The one shown closes to the bottom measures 6" square finished. I used dew drops, and glitter to accent the image. In this picture the glitter is still very wet.
***
I am going to shoot the video tomorrow so I look forward to the next project. Its another box video decorated and ready to go.
***
Thanks for visiting my blog. Have a great remainder of your long weekend! Stamp Happy!

Puppies and an Altered Birthday gift

Hi my crafty friends!
**
Today I used large rectangle coasters and covered them with some of my fabric to make this adorable altered post it holder. One side has a calendar and the other the post it notes. I used ribbon to decorate the jump rings and the chipboard is from Stampin up. ** I am including two stamps and a nice container of Prima flowers for my friends' birthday gift. I have two other ladies who will be celebrating birthdays in February and I will be making them similar gifts. I really enjoyed the project since the fabric has such a soft feel.
***
I am hoping that I can shoot another video tutorial for you guys this week, I just need to decide what I want to do as my featured project.
*****
I was sitting at the computer earlier today and Lexie and Snicker's where sharing one of the dog beds. It has been really cold here in Maryland lately and we even got some snow fall again a few days ago. So I couldn't resist but to take a picture of the cute pups.

Have a wonderful evening. Stamp happy my friends.

She altered her baby wipe container!

There I was, trying to finish up some last minute projects and get ready for the Shoe Box swap on Fort Meade when I thought, gee that baby wipe box looks so boring!
So first I removed the front label and carefully cleaned all residue off of the front. I allowed it to dry thoroughly. Then I measured for my patterned paper back ground. The owl and vine are from Stampin up, they are chipboard. I covered them with decorative paper. To insure that the paper was properly sanded, I used an emery board to do the small details of the feet and the vine.
The cute little treat box is a gift for a friend's birthday, it holds 12 small Hersey kisses. It also has a chipboard bird from Stampin up. I embellished it with ribbon, glitter and a 3 dimensional sticker.
We received about 3" of snow over night. It is beautiful. Have a great night. Don't forget about blog candy! Stamp Happy!

Stamp Happy my friends, video tutorial Gable box!

Gable box, a video tutorial

video

Here are pictures of the finished box and my die cutting and embossing folder storage;

Hi my stamping friends!

** As promised here is the video tutorial on how to make the gable box using the new sizzix die from Sizzix. Click here for the web sight I use to buy these dies. Click here for the Sizzix web sight.**

I do have a few more of these boxes to shoot video tutorials of along with some new ones I expect to arrive any day now. Be on the look out, I am going to have Mary Dawn re-design the blog once again. I think I need something fun and flirty!

***I am so sorry that the format of today's post is so very off. I'm not really sure what is up with that, but hopefully I can fix it later on, if not. Oh well!

*** I cut the video off early because most of the time video's need to run under about 12 minutes or both YouTube and blogger have problems with the publishing. It amazes me that it only took about 10 minutes to make today's video and it has been over an hour waiting for it to publish.

***A couple of things not shown on the video. I used rose romance ink retired from Stampin up to sponge the edges of the box. The sentiment is stamped with Memento tuxedo black ink onto Hammer Mill 100 pound 100 brightness card stock. I used my same sponge and added color and texture to the tag. The cute embellishments are 3 dimensional stickers gifted to me as part of my birthday gifts. This box actually stays square better when you fill it with candy or other goodies.

*** I hope to be shooting more video tutorials. Now that I understand how to use my camera, set my lights and prepare things in advance, it should be a bit easier for me to share some of my ideas with you guys. I am also a visual learner and know how important it is to have both text and video when available. I am still waiting for a 10 minute to upload nearly 2 and a half hours later. Come on slow poke!

** I got bored while waiting OK now 3 hours for the video to upload and decided to take some pictures of my die cutting area. I choose to store my Cuttle bug and Sizzix embossing folders in a cigar box. They are together by theme, such as Birthday, floral and Christmas. Makes for easy reference and a quick find. They sit in the box wonderfully and I flip through them just like a Rolodex file.

*** Blog candy is still on, refer to yesterdays' post for a photo. Email contact is ms.rhetta@verizon.net if you need to contact me directly with questions and comments, I really appreciate your feed back and kind comments here on my creative blog!

Stamp Happy my friends!
