Hello Crafty stampy people!
**
I hope you enjoyed a nice weekend recovering from Turkey overlad. My husband and I ate out at our favorite watering hole, it is called "Sullivans". I so enjoy our date nights together.
**
Even though I did not get as much stamping accomplished today as I would have liked, I did take the time to clean off my desk and clean out a cabinet. I even finished off most of our laundry. That is what I call a productive day.
**
I hope you are all enjoying better weather than we are! It is cold and raining. I'll be so glad for some cold and dry weather. Even our three dogs barely clear our front porch to take care of "business". Kinda sad really!
**
I hope you guys have a great monday, stay tuned for two or three new stamp sets that will be added to the blog candy. Right now in the pot is $20.00 cash and a hand stamped card and one surprise goody!
**
Stamp Happy stay safe this Holiday season!

A Holiday Planner -- in Progress!

Hi fellow crafty people!
**
I have seen many versions of a Holiday planner done. Many of the searches I have done through google have given me instructions for every thing from altering a composition notebook to using a file folder to make a portfolio.
**
With all these ideas in hand, I decided to go off the beaten path a bit. I chose to use the cardboard that comes in a paper pack and cut it down to 6" X 6". The inner pages are ordinary lunch sacks I purchased from the grocery store.
**
I covered the chipboard with decorative paper and distressed the edges slightly using ink sponged around the sides. Each page has different coordinating decorative paper. The images I have used so far are from Sugar Nellie stamps and Stampendous. Click on the names to go to the manufactures web sights. I think you will agree after visiting their web sights they both have fantastic images to purchase.
**
Officially, I'm excited. Have you seen what Sizzix has been up too? They have new dies called "Scoreboards". Oh my! There is a new checkbook cover, gable box and many more. Click their name to view the new stuff. I have placed an order with an online company that has them for reasonable prices. I purchased my dies from two sources, EBay and Memory Making crafts. Click on their name for the link.
I hope you guys enjoyed a joyful Thanksgiving and are having a wonderful weekend. Stamp Happy!
**
Blog candy continues until Deccember 15. Stay tuned to the blog for a new video tutorial this week.
**
A note to Susan, you can purchase BIA binding from Queens Ink at Savage Mills. Her web sight is: http://www.queensink.com. Most of the BIA bindings I use where gifts for working a scrap and stamp show about a year ago. It is great to get paid in product! Please email me, we have a great group of local girls who stamp and have lunch and other fun stuff, and I'm always up for new friends and a play date! Email for you and everyone is: Ms.Rhetta@verizon.net. Hugs and have a great Sunday.

What a wonderful stamp day!

Hello friends!
I finished up five ornaments last night. They are coming together and are so cute! I really need to shoot a video for you guys this week while Chad is home on Thanksgiving break.
You can really tell I had a great time, look at those inky fingers! Today was taking care of vechicle issues at the MVA this morning then when I returned home, I had a nice vacuumed house. Chad surprised me by getting it done!
No, I don't hire him out. It was just so awesome to have that part of my chores taken care of!
For those of you (God bless you all) who ask about my Craig. He is fine. He has one more test and graduates on December 3. I had my dates all backwards, I thought it was supposed to be in November. I do miss him and am looking forward to seeing him.
Have a safe and Happy Thanksgiving. I will try to post some this week, but it will be a busy one getting ready to celebrate the holidays. Go visit Youtube.com and type in "I am second" and watch some of the videos. I promice the joy of faith in Christ will be a blessing to your heart.
Hugs to you all!

First Christmas Projects!

Hello my crafty stamping friends. I will be shooting a video on how to do these cute ornaments this week. But for now, I'll just share the instructions.
First you will need:
EG6000 transparencies
Black detail embossing powder
A cuzzule or other circle cutter
Versa Mark Ink
Copic or other alcohol based marker
Glittter
Elastic cord
and --- patience.
Clean the transparency using an anti static bag. Stamp image using versamark ink onto the transparency. Sprinkle then emboss with the basic black powder.
Turn it over and cut it out of approximately a 2 1/2". Color as desired with your markers. Poke a small hole in his hat and roll up your circle so it resembles a cigar. Place the image into the globe and secure the cord to the top of the ornament. Of course before this step you should pour chunky glitter and other embellishments into the globe.
Secure the top with a ribbon and you're done.
Instructors note: if you do not want much glitter to stick to the globe, simply spray lightly with an anti static spray, allow to dry and then finish the ornament. My ornament is finished simply with a piece of ribbon and is waiting to go on our tree.
Thanks for stopping by. Blog candy until December 15. First item is a hand stamped card from me, now the second item is a $20.00 cash for you to use however you want for holiday shopping!

Big buckle card!

For today's project I am participating in a challge with some local girls. It is called a buckle card. You can find the instructions for the card by clicking here.
It was not a difficult card to make, but I suggest that you do not try to punch all of the layers with the word window punch, I actually did mine one layer at a time and it turned out wonderfully.
Have a great day, sorry this post is so short! Stamp Happy!

A Christmas Project for Ms. Vivian

Happy Thrusday!
My senior friend, Ms. Vivian will be receiving this cute little holiday list keeper. I used long chipboard coasters and covered them with DCSW paper. One of her favorite colors is blue, so I decided to use the blue paper with white snow flakes. I am continuing to be a fan of the cute elf from Stampendeous.
I made the decision today to stamp some envelopes also using the elf stamp. I used a product called flower soft, I added glitter to it and it looks like fluffy white snow. I also used my bind it all machine to attach the light blue coil bindings. The project was about 30 minutes in total to complete, but I'm very proud of the finished results.
Blog candy until December 15. Help me celebrate my birthday.
Stamp Happy and have a great afternoon!

Christmas cards

I've been stamping my day away, kinda. I finished up ten Christmas cards today. Most of them have the sentiment stamped onto white card stock on the inside of the cards. I really am enjoying the Stampedeous stamp set I purchased at Photo Scraps. The store is about thirty to fourty five minutes from my home, but so worth the drive.
Recently my husband took time from his schedule and we drove out north of Baltimore to purchase some cast iron skillets on the way home he took me to Photo Scraps and Queens Ink. Queens Ink is closer to my home, but she specializes in the more artsy fartsy stamps than are in my personal taste.
I do love going to her store, she is located in the historic Savage Mills and it is just chalked full of wonderful shops, resturants and small specialty stores! If you are not a local Maryland person, I highly recommend if you are ever in the area, visit the mill.
Have a great afternoon! Blog candy November 15 to December 15. I'll celebrate my 45th birth day with a gift for my blog friends. Remember you can follow me in google reader or subscribe via feedblitz. Email me with any questions!

A few Christmas cards -- blog candy has begun!

Hi my crafty friends!
Technically blog candy started yesterday, November 15 and runs until my 45th birthday on December 15. Please fee free to leave comments any where on my blog for your chance to win. The first thing you will receive is the winter greetings card you see above.
This set of stamps from Stampendous called snowy short stacks was purchased from my local stamp store. I certainly adore this set. It is like a build a bear thing. You can pick and choose mix and match the images for terrific and fun results.
I am still deciding on a Christmas card for my family this year and think these two are diffently in the running.
Tomorrow is report card day, I'm actually looking forward to it. Wonder where we'll have our celebratory honor roll report card meal at. So cross your fingers for the Chad!
Have a stamp happy night and stamp happy!

Some fun altered items

Hello Stampers and crafty people!
It seems forever since I posted any of my work. The small orange box is a cigar box I purchased from a local tobacco shop. I covered it in card stock that matches my copic storage box. The copic storage box.
Both have owls from the chipboard from stamping up. I really like the way they turned out. The owl on the smaller box needs some little sparkle for his eyes and he'll be finished.
Blog candy will begin on November 15 and run until my birthday on December 15. Shelly is my last blog candy winner and her goodies should go postal tomorrow or Monday. The weather here has been just terrible. It is cold, windy and rainy. What I consider a perfect day to just sit around in my sweats, have a cup of hot tea and stamp!
I plan to complete my housework tomorrow so I can stamp this weekend. I have several projects I need to complete.

No worries!

Just a quick blog post. First of all, I would like to thank the many (many) people who have emailed me asking how I am. I know that I have been a bad blogger recently.
I have been busy with various things over the last few weeks. Not the least of which is my oldest son. Yes, the Airman James. He turned 21 on the 21st of October and had some fraudulent activity on his checking account.
At the same time, his car engine died. Turns out a minor radiator problem fried his engine. So we are trying to guide him through the process of junking his old car and buying a good quality used one. I'm proud of the way he is handling the situation.
Report cards come home from school on the 17th, so I will have a clear picture of how Chad is starting off the school year. I'm actually looking forward to seeing his grades. He has been diligent about getting his work done and his attitude toward education continues to be positive.
Please take care stay warm and stamp happy!

Blog candy Winner Shelly ! and Halloween pictures!

Shelly has responded to the blog, but has yet to EMAIL me at ms.rhetta@verizon.net. Shelly please email me with your snail mail address in the next couple of days so I can get your goodies packaged and on their way to you.
The Halloween pumpkins picture above where carved by Chad. Sorry the Elvis one didn't come out as well as I had hoped.
The stamps in the picture above I found for $1.00 each at my local Michael's. They had a fantastic selection.
The other two pictures one is a ribbon maker and the other (obviously) a test tube holder. I will be showing pictures of my new copic storage box soon, I have painted it and am waiting for a stamping up order so I can finish decorating it. It is so neat!
Stamp happy and have a great afternoon!
