Shaving cream technique

I really enjoyed doing this technique. I've never tried it before. ** To begin, you will need to gather the following supplies; ** 1. A disposable aluminum banking pan. 2. Shaving cream. 3. Spatula 4. Re-inkers or food coloring 5. Good quality white card stock. ** For the background above I used Stampin' up re-inkers in Tangerine tango, only orange and yo-yo yellow. ** Squirt your (the cheaper the better) shaving cream into the bottom of the aluminum pan. ** Randomly drop several drops of the each re-inker into the shaving cream. Using your spatula (or craft stick would also work) swirl around in the shaving cream. ** I cut my paper to 4" X 5 1/4" and squash it into the mixture. I printed off a few. ** Remove it from the shaving cream and remove all extra 'goop' from the top. I used a baby wipe to clean my panel off. Set aside to dry or use your heat tool to dry it more quickly. ** Then I used my cuttlebug pumpkin embossing folder and ran it through my machine. ** The stamped with and saying are from the $1.00 bin at the craft store, I used sizzix ghosts cut out of shrink plastic and shrank for embellishments. The adorable ribbon is from a local stamp store. ** Stamp happy and give this fun technique a try. Blog candy to begin October 1 through Halloween!

Very Large altered message center project

Lots of great pictures of the different aspects of this VERY Large project!
Hello Stampers and Friends!
A quick trip out to AC moore produced this wonderful project. I am going to participate in a shoe box swap in the local area on Saturday. After much dilberation, I finally came up with my card design. I finished it up this afternoon.
My husband has been wanting to visit a local music store, so I tagged along and went to the AC Moore store. I found this HUGE wood clipboard there for $9.99.
I came home and used some of my decorative papers to acent it. It was first sprayed (1/2 way) with a chalkboard paint. I used a glue mixture to attach the papers and other embellishments are attached with E6000 glue. It took me about 4 hours to get to the point you see it now. I just need to finish off the back.
The stamps are from Recollections and are sold at the Michael's craft stores, it is embellished with stickles. Yes those are shrink plastic flowers on the thumb tacks, I used water color pencils to color the images and cut them out and shrank them according to the manufacture directions. If you have any questions regarding this project, just drop me an email!

A pretty altered clipboard

Hello my Crafty Friends!
Sorry that I haven't posted much in the last few weeks. **** My husband spent eight days in Germany and I mostly enjoyed some down time doing a few stamping projects. Catching up on some of the heavier house work and enjoying time with Chad. *** This last week Chad brought home the nasty cold bug. Of course he did very well and other than some nasty coughing has felt fine. Mike and I. Not so much. It has been over a week now and I still have congestion. I am so ready to be done with this cold! *** Craig continues to do well. When he called us today, he is requesting a new goody package to include some of the DVD movies that he left here. At the rate he is going I'll mail his room to him piece by piece. *** I hope you are all starting to enjoy the weather beginning to dance into the beautiful colors of fall.*** *** Stamp happy!

Wishing you a Zooriffic Birthday!

** Maybe this will be my "lucky" card. I am doing this card as part of a Maryland girls challenge. I used a stamp set from Recollections clear "Zoo" set and paper pieced the lion together. I stamped him on a 65# weight light brown textured card stock three times. ** I three dimensioned out his head and nose. I used copic markers to color the image. He is stacked on top of a Carmel card base with layers of chocolate (5 1/4" X 4") and pink (5" X 3 3/4") which I sent through my 'leaf' cuttlebug embossing folder.
** The sentiment was stamped on the same paper as the lion and layered onto the chocolate piece. The lion sits a top a circle die which he is also 3D.

Have a great remainder of your Sunday. Stamp Happy my friends!

Spinning crazy!

Merry Christmas?!
I have so been in the mood for spinner cards! Christmas is just three and a half months (short months) away. I was thinking of doing spinner cards for select family members.
Here is what I came up with. For the Santa and snowman spinners I used Studio G holiday clear stamps. Stamped with memento black ink and colored the image with copic markers. The snow man does not have arms, so I free handed some on.
Both Santa and the snowmen have a 3D hat. I used liquid applique for the 'fur' and glitter to add sparkle. The sparkle paper can be found on the children's craft isle. It is crayola paper. Some of it is even self adhesive. Nice!
Linda, if you are reading this your package is almost ready to go postal, thank you for responding so quickly. I hope you'll let me know when the blog candy arrives and of course, I hope you enjoy the goodies!
Have a great weekend, I know I will! Stamp Happy my friends!

Happy blog anniversary to me the winner of blog candy is.....

Hello Stampers! Don't you just love this card? I used my nestabilities for all of the layers. The main die is thenew label die and the circle is just the circle nestabilities die.
I stamped the bug fly onto a transparency and cut it out, colored with copic markers and attached it together using my crystal lacquer.
Please pardon any spelling and other errors on this post, my dog Lexie has taken up residence in my lap and refuses to move. She is so sweet. With my husband out on business I think she gets lonely.
On a side note, thank you so much everyone for your questions and comments about the boys. Craig continues to do fantastic at technical school in Mississippi and Chad has started out the school year wonderfully. He is also been very helpful around here. I've appreciated the help with the house hold chores.
If you are wondering, yes I forgot today was the 9th, and this post is going to be published on the 10th, but since I had already drawn the candy, I decided to just wait and republish this post. Don't worry my followers, I will be posting blog candy again soon! I hope you will come back and visit just because you want too!
Ok here is the announcement:

For Ms. Vivian

Happy Labor Day!
***
I have spent the day by doing a 10 minute tidy and then I started stamping. *** I found this sketch here. I turned the sketch side ways so the sentiment would fit at the bottom of the image. The stamps are from Hampton Arts and are clear stamps. They are so much fun to play with.
*** I used the sunflower and stamped it with momento tuxedo black ink and cut out and layered it onto the scallop circle and white circle. Sponged the edges of the circle, added pretty brown ribbon and dew drops. Easy. The hardest part is being patient enough for the stickles to dry.
***
We received some much needed rain over night. It looks like we will get a bit more this evening. Which is good news. Bad news is our tomatoes have a condition known as Blythe. Many of the tomatoes are rotting on the vine and it will be a bit of a mess to get them all taken care of.
***
I hope you are all enjoying a day of rest maybe some craft time and a cook out.

Have a great day and Happy Stamping! Blog candy ends September 10.

Fun stamping projects and blog candy draws to a close!

Hi Gang!
***
I hope you are all doing well! I've been stamping up a storm this last week.
*** I joined a movers and shakers swap that isn't due until November, but of course since I had the need to stamp, I finished them all up. They all have spinners on the back and bugs on the front. Except for some minor stamp re-arranging they are basically exactly the same except for the colors I choose to use.
***
Blog candy will be drawn on September 10. My second blog anniversary. The winner will receive a surprise in their box in addition to the blog candy I've previously mentioned. I'm celebrating 25+ thousand hits on the blog!
Today I'll tidy up the house and get some birthday cards for the birthday random act of kindness stamped today. I've created one card and need to do about seven more.
****
Have a great day and enjoy this last weekend of summer! ***

Pop corn sleeve! Blog candy until September 10!

Hi stamping friends!
I made this pop corn sleeve for a challenge with the local girls. This weeks theme is food. It could be a card, but I opted to use a food item. This is a bag of cinnamon pop corn.
***
I used a shiny yellow paper as my sleeve, stamped the image using memento ink and colored with copic markers. I then used the 3 dimensional liquid applique and glitter. It was then heat set so the pop corn looks real!
***
My friend Kathi will be receiving these goodies and some others for winning the last challenge which was a grid challenge card. I'll post the other goodies once I am finished with them.
****
Good news! Craig's package finally made it to him. Of course, mom's replacement package went postal with delivery confirmation today. He loved the clipboard and the post it holder. He thought they were interesting and very nice. His favorite things where the small bottle of hand sanitizer and the antibiotic spray. Of course he appreciated all of the candy and food goodies I put in the package. He actually had to ask a clerk to please go look for his package and found out that it arrived on August 22. It has been sitting there all this time.
***
Blog candy will be drawn on my second blog anniversary on September 10, 2009. In the pot, an altered pie piece filled with candy, clipboard tags, Hampton Arts stamp set "Who loves you" and $25.00 cash. I will try and shoot a video this week so stay tuned!
