What a fun day I had!

Happy Wednesday!
Boy, I really had a great day!
My dear friend Barb and I ate out at our local Mexican restaurant and then visited Michael's craft store. We then came home and chatted some more, looked at the new Stamping Up catalog and just really enjoyed one anthers company
***
When she left I headed out to the commissary it is the Military version of a grocery store. I had started to run low and even out of common household staples such as toilet paper and coffee.
***
I even had a chance to be creative. I created this little altered glass jar filled with clear embossing powder and a darling card to celebrate the soon arrival of my neighbor's baby boy. I used pop-dots to 3D out the little bunny, and coordinated the card with shades of blue. I wanted to keep it simple yet fun and whimsical.

I'm stuck on cow images this week!

Happy Tuesday!
Can you see the tiny google eyes on the cow and frog, the picture on the bottom is the inside of the card. I sponged the edges and added another frog with google eyes. The front of the card is loosely an old Mojo sketch. It could be better, but I ran out of clock.
**
I am sending this card to my niece to encourage her as she gets ready to return to school.
**
We received EXCITING news today. Craig, the Air Force kid found out his first duty station will be Andrews. Which is not far from our home. This also means he can come home for holidays. I told Mike that we will certainly see him and his gear weekly as he comes to do laundry!
**
He is doing well and enjoying the class.
**
We are praying for more rain. It is very dry and our poor grass is grown and the ground is so hard. We are constantly watering all of our plants and vegetables to be sure we don' t have any loss due to heat stress.
**
Chad also received some good news at our last visit with the orthodontist. He will continue to wear his retainers full time until November, then he only has to wear the top one at night. He is pretty excited to have that plastic out of his mouth for a while.
**
I hope you got a giggle out of today's card!

Clowing around

I know, two postings in one day! I joined a challenge with a local group of ladies known as the Meade girls. It focused on the use of this bold bright ribbon.
The image is from Whipper Snapper Designs click here for their websight. I am so thrilled that they offer the cusion only option now with many of their rubber stamps. It makes storing much easier.
I used bold bright colors for the image and the patterned paper. I even distressed the purple layer and sponged the white layer. All papers are from Stampin up, and the dew drops, flowers etc., are supplies I had on hand. To make the image even cuter, I poped out his pants and added glitter, and google eyes!
I hope this makes you smile, it is bright and cherry! Stamp Happy! Watch for new blog candy coming next week!

The new winner is!

The new winner is:
Chrissy!
I have sent you an email, please email me back with your snail mail info so that I can send your goodies out this week!
Have a safe and happy weekend! Congrats Chrissy!

Blog candy still not spoken for! And my swap cards!

Hello Stampers!
I hope that everyone has enjoyed a beautiful day! My husband and I saw the movie "500 Days". I had read and seen good reviews on the movie and our options greatly veered from the norm. The movie was a bit pretentious, the story line, however good never really felt like it went any where.
So, my recommendation is view it at your own risk. I don't recommend it.
On a side note, I still have not had contact from Hazel. I will be drawing the blog candy on tomorrow.
I am participating in a few swaps on SCS and made these two cards for them. One is a penny black image the other whipper snapper. I used left over DCSW paper for both designs. I didn't have much left and found the layout and designs easy to do!
For those who are asking, Craig is doing well at Kesler. He starts swing shifts this week and his new dorm room is miserable. No air conditioning, poor kid.
Chad is also doing well. I have assigned him weekly book reports written in cursive writing due every Friday. So far our assignments are going smoothly and I haven't received too many complaints.
As for me, I'm enjoying some much needed stamping time. I do need to get some more housework accomplished tomorrow, then I can sit and stamp once again.
Have a great night! Stamp Happy!

Hazel, claim your candy -- new chance until the 26th!

Hazel Please contact me immediately so I can send your blog candy postal! If you do not contact me by Sunday, July 26, will re-draw for the candy!

That means for the rest of you, you have a new chance at blog candy until the 26th, so leave those comments. Should catch the ol' blog up soon. I've injured my wrist on my stamping hand yesterday and it is bruised and painful to use. I keep frequently icing the wrist and if it isn't better by tomorrow think it will be time for an x-ray. Just in case I've cracked something. The down side to that is if they cast me I'd be in deep stamping depression crap.

I hope you are all doing well and enjoying some fun this summer!

Hello everyone!
***
Happy Thursday! Blog candy until July 21, so go leave those wonderful comments.
*** A1C - Craig James started his new technical school at Keesler AFB, MS yesterday. He strained his knee a couple weeks ago and is doing some physical therapy a couple of days a week. The therapist feels he'll be 100% by the end of next week so that is a good thing.

Today's altered items include an altered post it holder, pie piece (sizzix die filled with ribbon) and an altered paper weight, the stamp on top is "may your day be filled with happiness". I need to put in a few stamps and a card and it will be ready to go postal tomorrow.

On to today's post!
***
The paper storage is here! The UPS guy arrived at about 3:00 pm local time. He had eight (yup 8) boxes with him. Five sets of 12X12"paper storage and three sets of 8 1/2 X 11" paper storage.
***
No I did not take pictures of the before or in progress, it was just too messy in here. I also did not allow visitors into my space this last week during the cleaning and purging process.
***
It is awesome to be finished! It too all day to complete. By the time my friend Chris came over to visit, I had not only finished but had vacuumed the floors!
*****
I am so glad to have this space for my 'dream' area. If we ever put an addition to our home, I'll request my own dedicated space with its own door, no men (unless they stamp) allowed!
*****
Now that I'm finished I'll be blog posting more. ****
Stamp happy and blog at you guys later!

Don't worry about me! A quck update on "progress"

Hi Stampers!
A quick post this morning to let my loyal blog followers know I won't be stamping until the middle of next week. Check my previous post for the details of blog candy!
I have new paper storage coming in on the 13th, and I can't even get to my stamping desk until then, it is covered with my paper. If you are local area plan on checking in on the blog or via email around the 15th of July for a listing of what I will be selling or gifting. There is way more paper than I realized I owned. I will also be sharing some other items, cigar boxes and other things, tins, etc., for altering.
Also, if you are in the local area and are in need of a washer and dryer, please let me know, I am selling my old set and have purchased the Duet from Whirlpool. The set is in excellent condition. Uhaul of course.
I'll be posting some pictures of the progress. Be safe and Stamp Happy!

Isn't this adorable? I purchased this cute monkey stamp from my local craft store last week and felt the need to put it to use. My secret sister will be receiving this card along with an altered item this week. I used dew drops and nestabilities to complete this clean and simple layout. I really enjoy the colors of the ocean and think they work well together. I hope everyone enjoyed their 4th of July celebrations. Our family worked outside in our yard and also enjoyed hot dogs on the grill. I have been reorganizing my craft area the last few days and am waiting for 'store' like display shelves for my massive paper. Before I forget, if you received an unsubscription from me for your blog through feedblitz, my wacky computer unsubscribed me from all blogs not just the one that I found offensive. I am working on restoring these subscriptions. So please accept my humble apology for this computer problem. Stamp Happy!
