Just because I care!

Good evening everyone! I made this card for my Senior Angel, Ms. Vivian. I am really enjoying sending out cards and small gifts. I even have ordered a bag for her walker. I hope she likes it. Today was spent at Walter Reid Army medical center. My husband, Mike had to get a typhoid shot and a Tetnus shot. It has been a long day. Once we arrived home, Chad ( the 14 year old who know better) dropped the "I've got the book report due tomorrow" on me. We just finished it off. I'd better make an "A" (lol) he did do most of the work, I was the editor in chief and proofed and fixed his report so it would make logical sense. I even colored one of the images for the poster with my copics. How sad is that, I help with homework just so I can do some coloring. I hope every one is doing well. I am looking forward to getting my house work out of the way in the morning so I can do some stamping in the afternoon. A brilliant idea came to me yesterday. I really want to do more videos for the blog, but lighting is a real issue. I was sitting at my desk and had the most wonderful idea, how about track lighting over head on the ceiling? Mike loves the idea and hopefully I can get that knocked off my honey do list this weekend. I can hardly wait to shoot more videos! Have a great night and stamp happy!

An Altered Retangle coaster

Stamp Happy!
*****
Happy Memorial day everyone!
*****
***** For those of you who have served our country I want to say Thank you for your service, sacrifice and love.
*****
*****
For today's project I used the last two rectangle coasters I have and made an altered notebook. Instead of using just paper, I used ribbon to embellish the front cover. I also used an embossed foil piece on the right hand side.
*****
I really love the way the finished project looks. The paper is DCSW double sided papers, in green.
***** The pen is an RSVP type pen and has a piece of the patterned paper rolled up inside to give it the coordinating look.
***** Blog candy is still on, so please leave me those wonderful comments. Check out the side bar for dates. If you are reading this via feed blitz or you follow my blog, please click on the title to go to the blog for all the fun stuff!
*****
I should be able to shoot and publish a new video tutorial for you guys this week. My only problem is trying to decide which project to video!

A Garage door slider card (blog candy reminder)

*****
The stamps are from Pink Gem designs. Click here for their web sight. Even though the company is based in the United Kingdom, my stamps took a bit over 10 days to arrive. ***** I am sorry for no post in the last few days, but between some much needed cleaning and laundry, I've not felt my best. I woke up with a cold sore on Saturday my poor mouth. I bet I haven't suffered with one of these for 20+ years. ***** For those of you who are asking, Craig still has not been re-classed. He was able to go in and do a new 'wish list' of jobs he would like. One of the jobs would land him at tech school close to home. He probably won't know what is decided until next week.
*****
I love stamping school, Linda Heller's great tutorials click here for her web sight. I also have her icon at the very bottom of the blog. If you are receiving this via feed blitz email, please click on the title of today's post and go directly to the blog for full information. One of her tutorials, that she just filmed are the instructions to the two cards you see above. One is for Ms. Vivian, I'm her senior angel and the other is for my Divine secret sister.
*****
Just a reminder, I still have blog candy up for grabs. If you put a link on your blog to my candy your name goes in the hat an additional five times. I just love when you guys visit and leave nice comments and suggestions are always appreciated as well.
*****
I hope you guys will fly your American Flags with pride over the holiday weekend!

Rambling on Saturday night! Rectangle altered coaster!

***** Among the many things I love to do, I love to learn new things. I belong to a technique junkies sight and recently have joined Stamp TV with Gina K. It is a fabulous web sight with amazing video tutorials and easy to follow instructions.
*****
There are groups so you can find other local stampers/scrap Booker's and just have a really nice time. This week Gina K. shows us how to emboss plain simple aluminum foil. I am pleased with my first tries using this material. Even though it is thin, I found it to emboss easily in my Big Shot Express machine. It only took seconds to emboss the metal and maybe five minutes to complete the card. I a debating the ribbon, I think a sheer black ribbon would compliment the card more.
*****
The other project (the one of the top of the blog) is a rectangle coaster that I altered. As you can see it holds a note pad, which I will stamp small flowers on some of the pages and I took the time to find a matching glaze pen which is attached to the notebook with ribbon. Of course, I had to add my signature butterfly!
*****
Don't forget blog candy. If you have questions let me know. I am enjoying the wonderful comments and emails from everyone!
*****
I hope you all have a super evening! Stamp Happy!

For Ms. Vivian

Hello Stampers! ***** This is a sugar Nellie's stamp and I really like her. I used shades of pink and apricot for the card and copic markers to color the image. The card is also embellished with stickles! ***** Because of the detail of the image, The scallop piece that holds the pretty prima flower is a spellbinders label die cut from rose card stock. ***** For those of you who are kind enough to ask and email questions for me, I am doing fine. After the long week of laundry issues (see yesterday's post for details) I am finally caught up with at least this chore. The remainder of the housework will get finished up tomorrow. I am determined to get a little stamping in this afternoon. ***** Don't forget about the blog candy! Rules on yesterday's post as well. Be sure if you are getting my blog update via feed blitz to click the link and come directly to the blog, there you can see the archives, videos, and more tutorials. ***** I know I've promised a video, but simply have not had time to get one done. Hopefully that will get cured in the next weeks. ***** I hope you are all in good health and doing well. Stamp happy! ***** Many blessings,

Bad Blogger, but the start of C-A-N-D-Y!

*****
Hello everyone;
*****
I have been a bad blogger this last week! I am so sorry!
*****
OK, want the story? Its kinda long, funny and worth the read
*****
It all started on a very rainy day here in Maryland. We had gotten nearly 3" of rain in the last 72 hours. I was bored. I had finished up my housework and felt unmotivated.
*****
So, I wandered upstairs and found some more laundry. Uum, better get this done (yes I do talk to myself at times) so I start the laundry. Go to put the clothes in my dryer and ker-plunk, its dead. This couldn't have come at a worse time.
*****
I called my hubby and told him the situation. Being the "handy" guy that he is, I decided to "allow" him to look at the dryer. How much worse than dead could he make it any how? So, he did take a look and said, well you know that new dryer you want, well looks like you need a new one.
****
I really wanted the fancy dancy ones, but not in our budget at present. So we opted to buy a re-furbished set from a local guy. He came in the pouring rain and took the old set and delivered the new ones. Super quiet and super nice, super inexpensive. *****
Four days later, I'm finally almost caught up. I see the light at the bottom of the laundry pile.
****
The top picture is my son and his friends at the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. We had a wonderful field trip yesterday. I think these people are seriously slicing into my social calendar!
*****
Onto the blog candy: Stamps from; Stampology (9 pieces called Mindy's Zoo 1)

**** If you choose to put a link to my blog on your blog I automatically put your name in the hat five times. Please EMAIL me with your blog address and name so I can go ahead and put your name in.
*****
Thank you for reading my blog and visiting my projects. I hope you all have a good evening and are truly blessed by the Lord

Cow are you?

Hello and Cow are you? ***** I hope every one is enjoying a nice evening. ***** I made this card for Ms. Vivian. I am her senior Angel. I just got the assignment last week and am so excited to get started. ***** I just love purple and pink together. This card is no exception. The image is from high hopes rubber stamps and I just love the little cow boy hugging the cow. I used my copic markers for coloring. The brads are from the craft store. It is also embellished with a bit of ribbon. ***** Watch my blog side bar. If you are reading this via feed blitz, click on the title to go directly to the blog. On the right side bar you will start seeing pictures of blog candy. I will start the candy tomorrow, so be sure to check back in! ***** I was able to spend the afternoon with my friend Barb. She is such a hoot! I am so thankful to have her as a dear friend. ***** I am looking forward to mother's day weekend. Isn't there a rule that says mom can run around all day in pajamas? Except for when they take the queen out for a nice lunch?! ***** Have a great night and go stamp! Happy Stamping everyone! *****

Graduation Thank you cards

*****

My husband's niece is graduating from high school with honors next week. She would like as part of her graduation gift to receive 65 thank you cards for her to use.

*****

Here are three of my favorite ones. She wanted fun, bright, floral and a little whimsy! I think I have come up with the perfect combos

***** Each card has a slightly different lay out and design. All three have dew drops and a small amount of glitter. I will be sending these off to her tomorrow. I hope she goes 'cart Blanc' and allows me to just do up 60 fun thank you cards. However, I understand if she has a specific style and desire! ******

I'll be sure to let you guys know which cards she chooses!

*****

Craig called tonight. His instructors and commander both feel that he is not going to recycle or re-take the current B2 scheduler program. They have decided to re classify him. He will have to re-do some medical testing and give the Air Force a new 'dream' list. One of the good things about this is that Craig's last choice was the B2 scheduling job. I reminded him that God has a reason for everything. His commander and instructors praised Craig's communication and detail in his writing skills and feel he would be great in communications and signet, which is where he wants to be. He understands he is running out of chances and needs to get serious and keep his head in the game. For those of you who are wonderful enough to pray for my son, please continue to do so!

Happy Sunday!

Happy Sunday Stampers!
*****
*****
I made this really pretty birthday card with a retired stamping up set and my labels from spellbinders. I colored with both copic markers and water color pencils. For added dimension I sponged around the edges and in back of the main image. *****
*****
I was treated out to lunch at my favorite Mexican restaurant Don Pablo's by my dear friend Rhonda on Friday. It was so delightful. After lunch we stopped by the local Michael's. I found the smaller sized clear "paint" cans for like $2.50 each. I purchased three of them to alter I also found this huge chip board hat box and used my 50% off coupon to purchase that. I'm not sure what I am going to do with it as of yet.
*****
*****
I have a neighbor who found out last week that she and her husband are expecting a little boy on September 16. I may just have to find out what decor' she is going to do for the babies room and do some thing special with the hat box. The wheels in my brain are differently turning.
*****
*****
We have new neighbors. I am thrilled they liked the new neighbor basket I fixed up for them!
*****
****
No other news here, just trying to get some house work done it is cold and drizzly once again here.

I hope you guys have a great night! Stamp happy!

Have you seen this fabulous tote from Becky? Please check her blog out here. She has marvelous tutorials. I strayed a bit from her design and used regular card stock for the basic boxes but I used designer paper in layers on top; The colors are pretty in pink and retired designer papers. Accessories include transparencies, ribbon, eyelets, buttons and patience!

Blog candy will be starting again soon. So I hope you will continue to enjoy my blog and these wonderful projects!
