Hello bloging friends!
Wow what a busy day today turned out to be. The beautiful baby tin went postal today. I spent some time once again looking for "29 waist 32" length kaki mens pants,to no avail. I visited two Wal-marts and a Target. If you come accross any, please let me know.
While I was out I also visited a Michaels and Joann's. Gotta love that goof 40% entire purchase coupon.
As you can see, I have upped the blog candy, I'm offering up a My Favorite Things set and 6 new dollar stamps. These are very nice and I' sure whoever wins the candy will be pleased with them. I need to check my post(s) for August and be sure I have all my ducks in a row and I will also be creating either a gift box or tin for the goodies to go in (if they fit) along with some other goodies, so stay tuned!
Here is another picture of Lurray caverns in Virginia. I'm telling you folks it is worth the drive and the $19.00 a person to go. You will leave filling true awe.

I hope Mary Dawn is reading todays blog, girl I think I need your help again! On another note again, I took a few minuts to paper myself. I had my eyebrows waxed (lets face it I could have smuggled small squirrells in them they where that bad) and I finally broke down and had my nails done. So I get to blame the new longer nails for any typo's -- at least for now!Eyebrows
A few days ago I got a haircut for the first time in over a year. Watch for pictures, I'll update that horrid profile picture soon!

Baby Announcement Project!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Stamp Happy!
Hello and stamp Happy, it's Monday!
What do you think of this adorable project? It came out even better than what I envisioned. I love the size of the tin. These adorable tins origionally where covered in skull and cross bones. Umm, can you say sand paper?!
I sanded them down and applied the paper, I used more of the beautiful antique looking paper and then applied the shrink plastic charms, ribbon and I also distressed the paper with a sanding block. All projects use the super sticky redliner tape. If corners or paper starts to peel away I used a simple glue stick to fix the problem.
The braclet was constructed using simple elastic cord, beads and shrink plastic buggies. Once again, stamp credits must go to Whipper Snapper Designs, they can be found on the web by clicking here.

Other projects I am currently working on include cards I plan to submitt for possible publication.

Just a note, if you would like to purchase cards from me, or have me make cards and or gift items for you I will be glad to give you an estimate, I do not charge shipping this way you can save a little money.

All of my projects are made with the highest quality of materials. So if you have a wedding, baby shower or other event that you would like to have quality goodies for, just email and let me know. The email is; ms.rhetta@verizon.net.

All commissioned work is guranteed, I can create what you have in mind. I will send out an email with a picture of the proposed project for you to critique', once you have chosen what you want and the quanity an estimate will be given. There are no surprises. Just high quality items you'll be proud to have!

A baby Announcement Card

----------------

----------------------------------------------

Yes I'm doing hard returns, but I am still having the line issue with blogger, I'm going to try out some of the suggestions I have received both via comments and emails!

The above card is actually a commissioned project and is my 'proto-type'. It is a welcome baby card for twin boys. I wanted to keep the colors simple yet keep it elegant.

I used the houndstooth embossing folder as the background. The recipe is very simple, I cut the blue card stock to measure 5 1/2 X 4 1/4" folded. Next, I used a scallop/dot punch from Fiskars to do the edge. Under this edge I attached white card stock so it looks a little like lace. Then you attach the white houndstooth, layer on the green paper, and the image is a whipper snapper image done with copic markers. The tag is 3-d with pop dots, I used a soft orange eyelet to set it of. Other embellishments include green ribbon, and raindrop green dots.

Its a really simple project, and I love the way it turned out. On other news, my Michael's trip yesterday and all the 'booty' finally found a new home this morning, I put it on a shelf under the table I use for folding clothes. Within easy reach for me to play with the goodies!

I'd really like to hear from you -- my blog friends. I enjoy your comments, what have you been creating?

I am sponsoring an altered coaster swap, the thread for SCS can be found by clicking here. If needed I'll even send you some coasters (either square or round) for you to create a project. Come on peole, join the swap, it promices to be alot of fun!

Don't forget that you must post to the thread if you are signing up. I had a surprise swapper last time I posted a swap. It turned out ok, however I like to know what is involved with my swaps!

WOW! Shop Happy, Stamp Happy!

Wow What a great day!
What a fun day! Again! That is three in a row for me, I spent individual time with three dear friends this week, today was with Theresa. She is such the enabler. I also value her opinions and friendship!
We stamped alot today and She even bought some new stamps I was able to get inky and image stamp for my personal use! She bought her new cuttlebug spider and hounds thingy embossing folders, I went to town with them!
I also have a large commission order of 20 birth announcements for a friend in Texas. Gotta love it, when I get the card prototype done I'll post it for all to see!
I think I mentioned I received my Whipper Snapper design order yesterday. Even though I've had this stamp for a while, I really love Maribel the cow, she is just sweet. I love the colors of this card and its a quick and easy layout. I stamped her with Versa mark ink and embossed her with black detail embossing powder.
--------------------------
------------------------- ------------------------- I have no idea why when I am in the Compose of the blog why the picture gets the script cramed up to one side, to try and solve the problem I'm putting in the dashes. If any one knows how I can fix my problem, please let me know! This afternoon after some play time, Theresa and I went to Michael's in Laurel. The lady in front of us had bought out these small lunch bucket tins, but we shared our 40% off the entire order coupon with her. She was thrilled. I used my coupon to buy alot of things I can alter, tins, larger lunch boxes, small cirlcle tins, candles, calendars, you name it. I even bought more glow sticks. They are in the $1.00 bins at the Michaels and they are great cheap entertainment for pre-teen and teenages, hey then you can watch your kid 'cause the glow in the dark..... <I'm just saying>. I am on such a 'shopping' high! It is just so terrific to be able to get alot of stuff for very cheap, Once i organize all of my finds I'll try and remember to take a picture. Don't worry as I come up with ideas for these, I'll take pictures and post! Stamp Happy!

A few 'thank you' goodies

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here in Maryland it has been a beautiful day. I had the opportunity to visit with a dear friend Barb today. It was so much fun, we went out to lunch and then went to AC Moore for a bit of retail therapy.
Then we got home and stamped for a while and drolled over the new SU catty. I mostly want their new punches.
There where a few bargins to be had and I also used my 40% off coupon.
The "thank you" goodies posted above are for a dear lady named Terry, she is part owner of my hubby and my favorite watering hole. The last time I got to visit with her, I showed her one of my altered coaster projects, she fell in love with the idea and gifted me a large stack of coasters. As you can see I'm already 'creating' with them. I used similar papers on all of the goodies. The lunch box was altered by removing the existing handle and hardware and replacing it with a hand beaded handle and bows instead of a hard closure. It still opens just fine, I just wanted it to be a bit different. The bug stamp is from Inkadinkado, I have no idea why I liked this bettle, but I did, and incorporated it into the design of all the pieces. The small 'thankyou card' measures 3X3". I'll try and remember to take my new digital camera with me and take a picture of Terry when I give her these goodies! I think she'll be pleased! Tomorrow I will enjoy the company of another dear friend, Rhonda, I am looking forward to spending some time with her. Its nice to have the early evenings to take care of my house hold duties so I don't feel guilty about stamping. I hope everyone will have a great evening. Deb, my Texas friend, I'll work on your request tomorrow! Stamp Happy!

Melissa's Scrapbook

-- Front Cover Back cover, left side Back cover, left and middle One of the interior pages, don't you love nesties?! Another view of the back cover.
Stamp Happy, its Tuesday!
I've been working on a few projects, I'll post some more pictures later on this week.
Just another reminder that blog candy is in effect. Check out the post(s) for August to see the goodies being offered.
I will be able to post more about this sweet little girl a little bit later this week.
I would love for those of you who are SplitCoasters to join my Altered Coaster swap, the link can be found here.
I'm adding an altered coaster to the blog candy. If you haven't seen these, please check out I think two or three posts ago for a picture of some of the ones I have been working on. Each person who signs up for my swap will receive a altered coaster from me.

It is a little strange to me that I am more of a stamper than a scrapbooker, the opposite was true for many years. Now it is a I will have a 'need' to scrapbook, such was the case with Melissa's little book. It was so much fun to alter an exsisting tabbed board book to meet my needs and expectations. I really like the layout of the pages and the slight distressed look. I know it doesn't show up, but most of the pages do have what I like to call 'over stamping' which just means the paper may be patterned, but I tweaked it a little with some more images.

Stamp Happy, have a great night!

Stamp Happy! Its Sunday!

Just a reminder that the Ft. Meade Shoe box swap is September 27th. The link to the Splitcoast web sight can be found here. It offers up an awesome time to get together for a terrific swap and great time!
The picture above is of my dear hubby Mike teaching our precious Melissa some chords with her new guitar. She is doing well, and I spoke with her on the phone a couple of days ago.
I am currently working on a very girly scrapbook to give to her soon. It is only like 14 pages total, but I'm digging through at least 300 + pictures to find my favorites for her little book!
I've also been stamping I made a trip to Photo Scraps in Eldersburg Maryland. They are also our first sponsor for the shoebox swap. We still have openings and hope that you guys can join us!
The last blog candy winner Lori Barnett has been so patient with me, there is alot going on here at home and her package will finally go postal tomorrow! Lori, please let me know when you receive your goodies.
I'll post some pictures of the scrapbook once I've completed it.
Also, I've got a design team application in, I really hope to get in to the team! I just love being creative and stamping.
Oh, by the way, I have a card in the current issue of Scrap and Stamp Arts Magazine, it is a medallion card using Sparkle N Sprinkle stamps. I love the way it came out and I also love the way the editor captured it for the magazine. Getting published never ever gets old!

Happy Saturday!

Loretta and Melisssa 4th of July fireworks in Laurel, MD
Hello and Happy Saturday.
I am so sorry I haven't been able to keep the blog up to date every day. There is alot going on on the home front and I will be posting more about our home situation in the near future.
During my niece Melissa's stay, we enjoyed alot of activities. The picture above is one my husband took on the 4th of July. I really love this picture. We both look so pretty! We had a blast with the frozen slushy and of course we decked ourselves out with glow bracelets. (hey you get 15 of them for a $1.00 at Michaels'!).
I have been stamping these cute little post it note holders, of course I got the idea for mine from Angie's blog, it can bee viewed here.
I really love this idea, they are very easy to make, especially with the Bind it all machine. You could easily do these 'production' style. I've been doing them individually and using up some of my vast folder full of scrap paper. What do you think?
I will be selling these for $7.50/each postage is free, if you are interested, I also offer a bulk discount -- if you are thinking of wedding favors or bridesmaids gifts, this would also fit the bill and be a very nice addition to your festivities.
I am hoping to be able to get a small package together for one of my stamping buddies, she is having a birthday and I really want to do something special for her.
Just a reminder, if you are in or near the Ft. Meade area, my friends Tracy and Amanda are hosting a shoe box swap. If you are not already a member of split coast stampers, please join htis free online community. Check out this thread for infomation on the swap. The more players we can get, the better. A good time will be had by all.
Please stay safe in this heat, and I hope you all will have a great stamping day!
