Saturday Bella Garder

This is such a simple card. Stampin Bella is Gardenbella check out their stamps here. I have to brag on this company a little bit, I ordered about 8 bellas on Wednesday, got the tracking/shipping info on Thrusday evening, I had the order on Friday morning. No, I'm not kidding! I used pretty in pink for the card base, decorative paper (5 1/4" X 4"), the purple panel is layered behind the main panel. She is colored using my new copic markers. (I love love love them). I embellished the image with simple glitter. Update, the 19 year old son, continues to 'act out'. Now we seem to think its "ok" to look at porn on the internet. This is not tolerated, I do not want this influence in my home especially with a 13 year old in the house. My tolerance is next to zero now and I will no longer tolerate his behavior. I know he is going to trying all the tricks in the book, but immorality is not going to be tolerated. I hold my children to the same high standards as the Scriptures teach. No less will be tolerated. My sweet Michael continues to work on the new planter, I'll take pictures tomorrow. I have one of him after a hard work day sitting in his recliner sleeping. Not to mention he had three dogs keeping him company. I'll post that picture tomorrow. June 3 is the drawing for blog candy. So keep posting, remember I'll start a new round in June around the 10th, but please read my blog anyway!

Stamp happy!

Copic storage

Hello and d Happy Thrusday here in Blog land!
I still have some stamp sets for sale. If you would like the revised list, please email me directly at ms.rhetta@verion.net. I am now reducing all of the sparkle and sprinkle sets to $8.00 each. I just need the space and since I no longer design for them I don't have a need to keep more than a few things I really love. These are on ez mount foam. I will try and get them off of the plastic ez mount sheets for you, if I can't they'll go into a baggie or CD .
The image above is from whippersnapper designs. I have a few of their stamps, but must admitt I have a hidden 'obsession' with them. I am sure you will enjoy all of their stamps, be sure to check out the gallery as well as check out their contests. Lots of great stuff up for sale. I colored my image with good ol' copic markers. They are fast becoming my favorite medium. But, as a 'purest' stamper, when I'm waiting around for a doc appointment or something, I still use my water color pencils and blender pen to color images. I have been using empty CD cases for my clear stamps. I am using sizzors to cut the larger sets apart and can usually get one into a cd case, if it takes more than one case I label them 1 of 3 (or what ever. I am so enjoying this round of secret sisters on Splitcoast stampers, My big sis's name is Mary and she so rocks! I keep getting the nicest presents and cards from her, she has been super about email and I enjoy knowing what is going on in her life! You Rock I have three 72 marker copic cases. I want $20.00 each for them. Shipping will be $6.00. US only please. Priority mail. Hey -- I'm curious, what are you guys paying for gas these days? I filled my hubby's honda accord up yesterday (12.45 gal or so) and it was $50.00. Stamp Happy and Live well! I will be giving away the blog candy on June 3, so keep posting, keep reading and enjoy!

Flags a flying and the pool is open!

Hello every one!
Here in Laurel, our community pool opened for the first time. I took advantage of the mild weather and spent a couple of hours in the sun. Unfortunately the cloud cover made it a bit chilly for a swim suite. I wish I'd taken my camera. My youngest son, Chad jumped right into that ice cold water. The look of utter pain and cold on his face was priceless. His poor little lips even tinged purple!
Tomorrow I'll have to take that darn camera with me. I don't want to miss another chance at that 'face'.
My sweet husband finally got HOA (Home owners association) permission to start a new planting bed in our front yard. He was hoping to start it while the weather was still cool. At least today hasn't been so warm to keep him from his work. It looks so nice!
The 'puppy bottom' picture was taken a couple of years ago. These two little shih tzu puppies went to their new home together and are doing well to this day. Our home was blessed to have these sweet souls as part of our lives. I thought the picture would also bring a smile to your face! Blog candy update will come next Tuesday or Wednesday. So keep those comments coming. Remember you can post your comment any where on my blog. I hope you willl enjoy all the neat stuff I've got going on! I still need players for the black and white swap. Please email me if you are interested! Hey if you want some neat blog candy, check out this sight! Happy Stamping,

Swappers update and Friday happenings!

Just more proof, you can stamp onto just about anything. I found this small canvas bag at Michaels, it came in a 2 pack. I stamped the bunny (sparkle n sprinkle) using staz on black. I colored her in with fabric paint pens. To finish it up I coverd it with washable fixative. I've used this little delight alot and she still looks good as new!
It is indeed Friday! I hope every one is enjoying the beginning of memorial day weekend. Our family does not have any special plans. I'm sure we'll enjoy the opening day of our community pool as well as hoping every one has a safe and happy holiday.
Today I didn't get much in the way of stamping done. I did however get a trip to Ikea and bought a console table for the basement hallway. It is painted white with a glass top, I put some of the last swaps I received under the glass along with some collected sea shells and stamps to display. On the most bottom shelf, I put a lighted plant some stamps and other 3D items to display. I'm just thrilled with my purchase!
I will be hosting a Vacation Theme swap. I will be setting up a poll and whom ever wins will get $25.00 in CASH. Yupper, you read that one right. So check my blog news of this and the details will be posted the week of June 1. If I only get one card it will win by default, so start planning get the ideas going and check back!
If you participated in any or all of the last set of swaps I am hosting, you will be getting a partial swap back in the mail this week. Please refer to the letter in the swaps to answer any of your questions.
I still have openings in the Black and White Swap. They are due in my hands June 6. Please email me if you are planning to play at ms.rhetta@verizon.net. Make 6 cards get 6 back, full cards, no fronts. You can use any stamps/embellishments/etc., please make sure it is more than one layer. Do your best work. Something you will be proud of! They need to be placed in a zip type baggie for protection and the envelope needs to contain a SASE with the same postage you mailed it with plus an extra stamp. If I don't use the stamp I'll return it to you. No stamp/no envelope -- no return of the swap.
Once again my pick for best blog is Angie's blog. This week she is offering a video tutorial on pocket cards. They are adorable. I can see this project being used for all kinds of things. She has a truly amazing gallery of video's and projects. I hope you will enjoy her stuff!

Groaning on Thrusday and Blog Candy!

Hello my fellow bloggers! I wish I could tell you that I am having a super-terrific totoally awesome day. But, I'm not. Before I get into the 'umm what's up' part, here is a picture of the current blog candy. As you can (or can't) see, there is a cute box purse, 4 cards and 5 envies, Inkadinka do, "Happy Birthday" stamps, Stampedous "Retro border", a hoodie money or gift card holder and a butterfly pin.

Also, I know if you are waiting for the first set of swaps, I am a bit behind and should be getting them out this weekend. The girl card is part of the blog candy package. The recipe is very simple, all stamps are from Amuse stamps. Cut pink card base so finished it measures 5 1/2 X 4 1/4", apply distressed green layer that measures 5 1/4" X 4", Stamp girl onto white card stock that measures 2X2, layer onto gree piece that measures 2 1/4X2 1/4", flower band measures 4" X 1 incehs. Using the SU punches, I punched one layer in light pink and one in green, then stmaped the 'hello' in lavender ink. I also embellished with buttons. It is a very simple card but I think a very nice one! Onto the 'drama'. My oldest son is 19 years old and should be completing his first year of community college like -- now. He failed two classes this semester. He has now been given notice he is to find another place to live by June 8. His other option is to figure out how to complete his two year degree in two years. There are a lot of decisions to make and your prayers are appreciated!Holy Moly Kid has been given every opportunity. His only job was to be a good student. Its kinda sad, since he is such a sweet young man. Mike is fixing a nice barbe que meal for tonight, we'll have his kids over and of course the four of us. It smells so good her ya'll let me tell you, the whole neighborhood smells like bbq! Yumm -0! That's all for today, stamp happy! Loretta

Wishing you well on Wednesday!

Hello Everyone!
I am so sorry I haven't been able to post for a few days. Life here is a bit hectic.
I am dealing with a very strong willed mommy bird who decided to sneak into our bathroom vent and successfully start rearing (we think) three babies. This morning those babies apparently are starting to move around and we thought we possibly had one in the vent fan. My husband and I dawned our gloves and 'checked things out' thankfully the little ones apparently are big enough to scamper, 'cause that is just what they did. To 'prevent' diaster, we've now taped over the vent fan switch until mommy bird completes her mission of raising these babies. Then we'll clean out the blasted vent, and seal it up with some mesh or something she can't break through.
Today is a play date! My bff Barb is coming over, I always enjoy her company. No addition to blog candy today, but I promice there will be some 'tasty' treats included with this batch.
The picture above is of a waterfall card I did back in Feburary. I just love cards that 'do' something! Please continue to read my blog and leave comments! One more thing, LINDA, was my last blog candy winner, and very graciously sent me a beautiful thank you card in the mail. It was so very thoughtful of you and I enjoyed receiving (and using) it! Thank you again for your thoughtfulness! Happy Stamping!

Friday Candy Day!

Happy Friday!
I am so sorry I missed a blog date yesterday. I enjoyed my 'work day' my husband and I had been 'discussing' the state of our laundry room. It had started to become a catch all. Folks, let me tell you my sweetheart is retired Army, and yupper you guessed it that wasn't gonna fly. I have to admitt just an hour or so into our 'adventures in laundry', I was very pleased with how everything is coming together, I actually have a 'system' for the overflow pantry items and cleaning supplies/materials. Not to mention my seasonal items are together. I can actually find stuff! WOO hoo! Here is the latest in blog candy offering, it is a set of clear stamps from Inkadinkado it is item #97529 Humorous Birthday.

Don't you like it? I love their products.

Today I did have a friend stop by for some stamping time. It is always nice to have people over.

I am selling off some Sparkle N sprinkle stamp sets and singletons, as well as some stampin Up sets, please email me at ms.rhetta@verizon.net to receive a list of what I have. Prices do not include shipping, but I do accept paypal.

Today's challenges to get a little house work have gone well. I hope to get more done tomorrow.

Happy Stamping,

Loretta

Happy Wednesday! A Copic Review

Happy Wednesday!
A Copic Review!
Oh ladies and gentlemen. My new copic markers are officially out of the box and onto paper! WOW. How nice are these.
I used the My favorite things stamp set "sisters and chocolate". I used the 100 pound 150 brightness hammermill paper. The image was stamped with Graphite Black Ink and heat set before coloring.
I do love the possibilities of the markers. I like the color saturation and the blender pen is awesome. You can find out more about the markers here.
I hope you don't mind the wild colors of the example, but it was truly 'play time' with the new markers. I am just so impressed. I'd love to earn a copic certification! That would just be too much fun! Blog candy, you will (so far) receive the box purse from the earlier post. Now that purse will be filled with goodies, I'm not going to give them all away, but there will be stamped cards, a chocolate bar (dark or special dark of your choice -- wrapped of course). I will also include a butterfly pin! How do you like my new blog look? Ain't it grand! I'm really enjoying it. Now if I can only get a handle of getting the watermark where it belongs. Trial and error baby! As I master my copic's I'll post more on them and how I feel the colors work together. Thanks for visiting, see you tomorrow. More Proverbs 31 woman on Thrusday as well! Many Blessings, Loretta R.

The Copics are here!

Oh my! The copic markers arrived today while I was at Bible Study. My son Craig (ladies he is 19, good looking and single) signed for the package. I opened it and am oohing and ahhhing over the great colors. I can't wait to try them out! Which once I finish posting this entry will happen tonight! I'm doing a round of devine secret sisters on split coast stampers, I am having an awesome round, both my big and little sisters are awesome. I just love receiving great goodies and sending them out as well. I need to vacuum tomorrow. Hey I'm taking volunteers if any one out there is interested.... Just kidding (well maybe not so much...) I hate vacuuming. I'd rather scrub toilest than vacuum or go to the commissary (it is the military equalivant of a grocery store). I bought the new 'a clean houes is a sign of a lazy stamper' from Hanna stamps a while back, I need to make a card or plaque for my craft area. My mom enjoyed her birthday and was very surprised to receive flowers. I am glad she had a great day!

The above image is a stamp from Sparkle N Sprinkle it is a medallion stamp.

Happy Birthday to my Mom and blog candy!

Isn't this a great picture! Can you believe an eleven year old girl took it? My niece took this picture of my mom (Aka me-maw) outside of Hillcrest Baptist Church School in Augusta, Georgia.

Today my mother is celebrating her 73rd birthday! Yeah Mom! Don't worry I sent her separate Mother's day and Birthday gifts!

For mother's day it was all handmade , a few cards, a butterfly pin, some book marks and a few pices of candy. She loved it. For her birthday, I sent a seprate card and had the local florest to send her some flowers to her home this morning.

With the start of blog candy, as you know I will enclose one of the purses on a previous post. My first blog candy offering will be a clear set of stamps from Stampedous, called SC063, Retro Border.

Leave comments any where on the blog, between now and June 15th. If you have won blog candy in the last 4 months you will not be eligible to win again for 4 months. Also, no candy outside the U.S. due to the increases in postal costs. I am still waiting for some of my overseas buddies I will send you a card.

A short Proverbs 31 lesson: Verse 20. She extends her hand to the poor,And she stretches out her hands to the needy. She is compassionate and generous. She helps provide for those who can not otherwise provide for themselves. She is alot like my mom, busy in the kitchen making biscuits for our Rainbow Girl fellowships, or providing for girls who would otherwise not have appropriate clothing for our meetings.

She is not afraid to reach out and touch, her compassion shows not only in her actions but on her face which glows with the love of Christ.

As you can see my blog is channging. If you want to know 'how'd you do that'. I didn't. Please email MaryDawn at: MyPinkMexico@gmail.com. Let her know 'Loretta' sent you. She is awesome. She walks you through everything and then takes off and sets stuff up. Her prices are VERY reasonable considering every thing you'll get for the money. If that isn't enough, she even accepts PayPal .

Even my photos will have watermarks!

Happy Stamping!

Happy Mother's Day! AND Beate's weekend Sketch Challenge!

This is Beate's weekend Sketch challenge #47 (Aka WSC47). You may find her challenge on her blog here.
It is a very simple recipe. I embossed green galore paper (From stampin up) with my cuttlebug paisley embossing folder. I then used my nesties and cut out the two ovals. The stamp is "flower girl" and sentiment are both from 'A muse' stamps.
The card base is Apricot Appeal, and the bottom layer under the ribbon is regal rose. I slightly distressed it using my sanding tool.
Happy Mother's Day! Mine has been awesome. Last night my sweet hubby and the boys treated me to dinner at one of my favorite resturants. If you are ever in the Washington, DC area or vacinity you should check them out. Here is their websight! It is a bit pricy but I promice you get what you pay for with the quality of the food and service.
I will be doing more proverbs 31 woman on Tuesday. So stay tuned! Reminder; Blog candy starts again tomorrow!
If you are not already a member of Split Coast stampers, JOIN! Its' free and fun. Check out my gallery with them here.
Enjoy your Sunday!

Cuddle Bug Embossing Folders

Hello Everyone!
I hope you are enjoying a Friday filled with anticipation for a great weekend!
Don't you just love the Cuddle Bug embossing folders? I used the swirl one along with some Sparkle N Sprinkle Stamps to make this card.

If you would like a current list of the Sparkle N Sprinkle, Stampin up and other (mounted and unmounted) stamps I am selling, please email me at ms.rhetta@verizon.net. Keep in mind I will ship all items via US priority mail and that postage prices will be going up on Monday May 12. Which happens to be my Mother's birthday and the first day blog candy will start.

I am offering great prices, so check back, its a first come - first serve kinda deal.

I jumped in today! I bought some Copic Markers. This company (after doing alot of research) has them at the best price! I am also selling off my Marvy markers (like new, very inky) for .25 cents each. If you want to know what I'm selling --- email me! (I am compiling a word doc with all the details so I can send it out when ever I need it). This company (oozak) has free shipping on orders of over $25.00 as well. I sprang for the express shipping since I kinda have to have them NOW! Spaz

I finally (after like two months) opened up and used my Scor-Pal. My review -- I love it. It is pretty handy, does a great job with the score lines and I love doing the 3-D projects. They have a special forum on splitcoast stampers and you can view it by clicking here. So many great ideas and projects. So little time! If you decide to buy one, spring for the beautiful teal case, it is so nice since you can put some paper in the case and carry your scor-pal!

Remember at current I am a 'homeless' designer. If you know of a company (or represent one) looking for designers, I'm your girl!

Ok, todays Proverbs 31 woman lesson: Today we will talk about The woman and her Devotion as a home maker.

I know most of you are like me and don't like the term 'housewife'. I know I don't like that term at all. We married great men who are providing for us and our children, who earn a good living so that we can stay home and tend to the important stuff. I am Mike's wife, and the caretaker of my home and family.

Today we will look at verses 13-19 of Proverbs 31. Here are the verses.

  • 13. She looks for wool and flax and works with her hands in delight. works joyfully. She must have been a stamper! Delight in what ever work the Lord gives you to do.
  • 14. She is like merchant ships; She brings her food from afar. goes extra mile to get choicest goods. Are you a picky shopper, searching for only the best for your family? It is really a Pay it forward principal. By providing good nutrition for our families we are providing for a healthier future.
  • 15. She rises also while it is still night and gives food to her household and portions to her maidens. She is disiplined. Even though I'm spoiled for the most part my sweet husband awakens early in the morning and gets up with the 13 year old and makes sure he is provided for including breakfast and his morning medications. I have no problem with his help, I treasure this time. It is a great time for him to have with Chad alone. I also want you to notice that the Proverbs 31 woman is not a one woman show, she had maidservants (like house keepers and nanny's) helping her out. She knew how to properly manage a household.
  • 16. She considers a field and buys it; From her earnings she plants a vineyard. enterprising, prudent with money. I have to admitt, I'm the spender among us, my sweet husband is not only the provider but the deligent one who tracks stocks, investments and money issues. I do well to pay the bills and balance the check book. We do not own land, however we have a small garden I love to tend to and provide fresh things for our family.
  • 17. She girds herself with strength and makes her arms strong. She is not lazy. Her strength often comes from self disipline, and devotion to the Lord first and family second. In other words she embrasses life with an energetic attitude.
  • 18. She senses that her gain is good; Her lamp does not go out at night. good steward To be a good steward means you plan and communicate. You make the most of what you are given and you are always 'on call' so to speak.
  • 19. She stretches out her hands to the distaff, and her hands grasp the spindle. This is a very basic principle. Give to others and do to others as you will have them do unto you. The Golden Rule. She is not afraid of giving a hug to some one in need, or taking a meal to a needy family. She isn't afraid of work. She welcomes it and also enjoys the opportunity to serve others.

My two cents: (I swear I don't have too much more than that in my purse -- again) With all areas of life, give the Lord both prayer requests (state your needs wants and desires) and your sin (all the stuff you can't handle, don't understand and don't necessarily agree with) The trick here is to lay it at the feet of Jesus. Walk away. Don't go back and look for it. Leave it there. Christ is more than capable of holding our deepest desires and forgiving our deepest sins. Allow him to do so.

Today's Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father,

I come to you with many wants and desires, you truly know my heart. Allow me to learn and grow in you so that I become a become of Christ. May my heart's light shine in a world full of darkness. May you use me in what ever ways you would have me serve. Bless those who are in my life and I thankyou for my Michael. My earthly provider and your servant. In Jesus Name...Amen!

That's it for today! Stay tuned for more Proverbs 31 woman!

Stamp Happy!

Card Purse and first blog candy teaser!

Hello and Happy Thrusday! Ok, I will admitt once again I am a total addict of Angie's Blog. I made this wonderful card holding purse following her great directions. It is so easy to do and cute to boot! This one will be going out to my little secret sister on Splitcoast stampers! I'm filling it with a few cards, some stamps and some candy.

If your curious, these will hold standard 5 1/2 X 4 1/4" (finished) cards! Even though my new 'blog candy' will not start until May 12, I'll give you a preview, I will include one of these boxes (not necessarily the one you see, as it will be made with what ever paper I happen to be using at the time) in the blog candy!

Check out split coast stampers here. You can check out my gallery there by clicking here. It is free to join and there are alot of neat threads to look at. Take a few minutes and spend a few bucks and join the fan club, it is so worth every dime! Such neat ideas, so little time!

If you didn't heard already, My Favorite Things Stamp Company is introducing some new adorable stamp sets, check them out!

Check out my blog again tomorrow. Since I am no longer a designer for Sparkle N Sprinkle stamps, I will begin selling off some of my inventory. There will be alot of sets as well as singleton stamps at great prices.

Ok, now its Loretta's Proverbs 31 woman time.

The Proverbs 31 Woman :

"10. An excellent wife, who can find? For her worth is far above jewels. rare, precious. 11. The heart of her husband trusts in her,And he will have no lack of gain. trustworthy. 12. She does him good and not evil All the days of her life. "

We'll start with verse 10, Back in bible days women are often regarded as property. Excellence consists of many factors. To define excellence in ourselves, we must first realize that we are only mortal sinners. Can you find in yourself excellence.

Next verse 11. Having a husband who trusts you, Define trust in your own words. Does your husband trust you. Are you upfront and honest with him about all areas of your heart, life as well as ambitions? His gain is your gain. Remember trust is earned. Show him that he has no fear that you are the one who not only shows grace under pressure, but allows others to see in you who the person of Jesus really s.

Finally for today verse 12. Doing good goes beyond just good deads, but it also goes into not allowing evil (or sin for that matter) to take a strong hold in your life. Honestly examine your life, your expectations, fears and triumps, and weigh them against what the Lord has for you, wants for you and will provide for you.

-- More tomorrow!

Have a great afternoon! Loretta

A picture of my goof and news of upcoming blog candy!

What can I say, I think I made a boo-boo yesterday when I said my DH (Hubby) verses DS (son) on the drawing. It was infact Chad who did the drawing. Isn't he cute? At 13 the attitude is a bit more than this mom can take at times, but this sweet loving guy is so my world. Hey I even got him to smile enough so you can kinda see that mouth full of braces. .
Linda, your blog candy went to the USPS today it is coming your way via Priority Mail. Please let me know when it arrives!
I will be starting a new round of blog candy on May 12th, in honor of my mother who will celebrate her 73rd birthday on this date. There will be a theme for this one, it will be 'all things beautiful'. This will also be based on the Bible account of the Proverbs 31 woman. In the following weeks you can expect my experts on who this woman is and how we can learn from her teachings, actions and faith.
If you are not a beliver in Christ, I hope you will read these entries any way? Why there is alot of good ol' common sense to be found and a new twist on old ways of thinking.
"Glitter, Glitter every where, on my seat and in my hair", I have to kinda quote that one, since when my sweet hubby woke up this morning his first statement, was 'is it sparkly in here or is it just you'?! Oops, I think that I actually carry glitter as part of my DNA now.
I will go back through the comments, I still would prefer for 5 of my over seas' blog readers to email me so I can send you a card. If you non over sea's folks have any suggestions or clues as to how to know 'where' a blog comment came from I'd love to have that knowledge.
Want some awesome stamping templates, check out Chia's! There are some neat things to be found there!
Ok, I hope every one will continue to comment, remember to check back daily. I will try to update every day when I am able.
Have a stamp happy evening!

Sunday Sunday!

Hello my blogging friends!
It is indeed a happy and beautiful Sunday! The weather is perfect, even got two of the cars washed and vaccumed today!
Today is the last of the blog candy, now in the pot is a set of 27 pieces from Heidi Grace designs called 'everyday Alpha, it is manufactured by Fiskars.
Tomorrow afternoon will be the big 'draw'. I'm pretty excited. I'm loving all the great comments! One substitution to blog candy will be made, instead of a gift card I will enclose $15.00 in cash instead. Just because not everyone has a Michael's.
I am such an addict of Angie's blog, she has cool tutorials she can be found here. She has alot of neat ideas and projects. One of these days, I too hope to be able to do video tutorials! Hey then again I want to be the next 'Carol Duval'.
The picture is of a chalk board card I did around the Halloween holiday, it is a neat card, and stay - tuned, I will be doing a totorial on it soon. Thank you to all who are commenting and continuing to comment on my blog, blog candy will be tomorrow. Happy Staming! Loretta

Red Delight Medallion Card

This beautiful medallion card also features stamps from sparkle n sprinkle. I love the combination of papers and the detail offered by these simple yet elegant stamps. Here is a picture of the current blog candy offering: Notice the 'suprise' element in the candy offering? Also I know there isn't a picture of the buttefly pin or the Michael's gift card, I simply forgot to lay them out on the table. Remember it's not to late to try for this lot of goodies! May 5th in the evening I will put all names in a hat and have my son Chad draw out the winners. Just a reminder, if you are overseas, I will pick at least two folks to receive a card from me, but the blog candy winner will be from the US only. If you have any questions, please ask them. I love having these give aways and really wish I could give every one a little something! Happy Stamping to all and to all a good night! Loretta Rodger
